"Booked champagne afternoon tea for two. Lovely cosy drawing room with log fire and pretty decor. Concierge was welcoming and took us through to the drawing room where he proceeded to have to make small talk with us for around minutes whilst we waited...for someone to come to show us to our table. No table had been made ready for us despite us having a prior booking and we had been seated for over minutes before we were given a menu to chose out choice of teas. I had pre-booked the champagne afternoon tea and there was a considerable delay in us ordering our tea before we received the champagne and other soft drinks ordered. The service was exceptionally slow. Having said that with a discount on the cost of the tea pounds instead of pounds for two) it was a lovely tea and we could have had more sandwiches and cakes had we needed them. At full price I probably would not have been so impressed with the quantity or quality. The drawing room manager was very nice, polite and professional."
