"Upon arrival at the hotel, it was like walking into the departure lounge at a large airport. The furniture was sparse and the atmosphere was dead. Once we had been shown to our table the waiting staff were courteous and very attentive. I had ordered afternoon tea for 2 and this was well presented. The sandwiches were very nice as was the brownie and Victoria sandwich cake. Unfortunately the scones were very doughy, and very chewy, and the Bakewell tart and lemon cheesecake were so sweet that they overpowered everything else and left a very sweet taste in the mouth for a couple of hours later."
