"Good food and pleasant, helpful staff. Only downside was table time restricted to 2 hrs which was a bit limited for our first family get together since Jan 2020! We asked if the table was required or if we could have more coffees, waitress said we were welcome to have more coffee, table not required but restrictions meant we had half an hour left so we managed more coffees. My understanding is that the 2 hour slot is discretionary and aimed at enabling management of licensed establishments to ensure no over consumption of alcohol leading to irresponsible behaviour in observing covid safety measures, which I wouldn’t imagine being an issue at Mains of Drum? Having had very long lunches at 2 local hotels recently, perhaps the Drum policy is more about releasing tables and enabling turnover of customers but there were lots of empty tables on the day of our visit. It also seemed odd that as a covid safety measure, all other such places we’ve been are offering table service only both for food and bar but Drum is operating self service. Enjoyed our visit though and would certainly return."
