"Our waitress was very helpful when we were choosing which wine to have. She took our food order when she delivered wine and water to our table. Food arrived very quickly, starters were delicious,the mushrooms could have done with a little more flavour,trout and crab rillett was very tasty. Traditional Christmas turkey dinner arrived at the table hot and plentiful. We wernt able to have dessert as we were full up!"

"Family was visiting and we decided pretty last minute to book a table via open table. We arrive at the restaurant and the place is empty, but the host makes a huge deal about our late booking and insists that the kitchen is super busy and that he is expecting a bunch of bookings just after 6pm. We insist we don’t mind waiting for food as we aren’t starving. He seats us and our mains are ordered and out in less than 45 minutes, so not as long a wait as we expected, keep in mind we had starters/nibbles. The whole time he makes us feel pretty uncomfortable and not one single group came in. By the time we left after 8pm, still no one had arrived and there were maybe 3 other tables in the whole restaurant. The waitress was lovely though so we still tipped as it wasn’t her fault at all. The food was fine but relatively boring."

"A hugely disappointing experience! Having visited its sister restaurant in the same village 5 days earlier, where the food and service was of a high standard, the BGI presented as a poor relation in every aspect of the meal. Staff appeared harassed and subsequently unprofessional. The food was at best average, though elements of some plates were unappealing in presentation and barely edible. I would suggest that all of the above could be avoided by better staff training and on-floor supervision. I reiterate, hugely disappointing!"

"I really enjoyed the food when the restaurant first opened, but unfortunately, it's gone significantly downhill since then. The main menu has been replaced with a cheap paper version that offers limited options. I used to love the pizzas, but when I tried one on a Saturday night, it was just a lump of dough with hardly anything on top—extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning. The staff seemed disorganized, and I noticed an elderly woman running around chatting with customers. It might be best for them to close up shop now and save face. I've seen this all before.
