"The food was above average, I had cod with chorizo which was beautifully cooked although the chorizo looked like it had been boiled rather than pan fried. Service was very good, capable and attentive staff. The thing that spoiled the evening was the noise level, you shouldn't have to shout to participate in a conversation but within a group of six of us, this is what we had to do as the background noise was so loud. It tended to make the evening rather waring and it was a relief to leave for somewhere quieter. Overall I thought the prices were high for the general ambience and quality."

"On arrival there was a hen party which got louder the longer we where there but we accepted that, it was the food we had a problem with the vegetables where cold and the jus was very salty. The 5 green gnocchi squares tasted like eating stodge with no flavour even though it was supposed to contain garlic. For the price £20) there was little on the plate and it was cold. My partner had a starter and enjoyed that but commented there wasn't enough. When we complained the manager said she would let the chef know and then avoided us like the plague and seemed annoyed. We asked for the bill after I decided not to have a dessert and sat there waiting for what seemed an age, so we decided to go to try and pay and the manager appeared as we put our coats on and the bill appeared, she had knocked the drinks off the bill which we thought was very good of her but she had charged us for each course individually when there is a set price for 2 courses but we just paid and left, we felt very dissapointed as we had been looking forward to eating there but sadly it wasn't the best experience for us."

"We (myself and friends) booked a table for for Saturday at The food and drinks were very good, however the service was very slow. The waitress was very slow to take our drinks orders and bring them over to our table, even though the bar and restaurant was very quiet. The staff behind and around the bar were stood laughing rather than waiting on tables. Our food arrived and was very good, however we did ask the waitress for some wine to have with the meal. The waitress must have forgotten we had asked as she returned minutes later to ask if everything was ok with the meal, at which point we had to remind her we had ordered the wine. The waitress then took another minutes to bring said wine, at which point we had completely finished the meal. They also add a service charge on the bill, which we asked to be removed as the service was not good. This is itself is quite awkward for diners to have to do, as we did not want to be impolite, however we did not feel that we should have to pay this as the service was disappointingly slow."

"I booked, in secret, for my wife's birthday. I had asked them if I could pre order the food so we didn't have to wait as we were tight on time. I also asked if they could hold onto her gift from me and present it to her with the wine. All went perfectly with superb friendly service, amazing steaks, great value red wine. In and out within 60 minutes. Perfect"

"After the hell experience of trying to get parking.... we were told at the entrance that we had to purchase a ticket to enter the gardens, even though we were eating late in the afternoon and the gardens would be closed before we were finished therefor not bing able to enter the gardens anyway, We were not informed that we had to purchase a ticket in order to enter the restaurant ,,,, rip off !!!! so our meal was ruined ,,,, and the whole experience was ****,,"
