"I was really looking forward to going back to Le Querce after a long gap. Sadly it was a disappointing experience. The evening menu now requires you to have at least two courses, costing £29.80, plus an extra £4.80 for side dishes. Two of us were almost 30 minutes late joining our group due to traffic problems but has to wait another 30 minutes before the orders were taken, with no offer of drinks or nibbles while we waited. The food was still good but our main was 6 not very big pieces of pasta stuffed with potato and cheese in a tomato sauce, which I felt was stingy for the price. One of our group only wanted a main course but we were charged £6.50 for the bread, cheese and olives she shared with another person on top of the set £29.80 for her 6 pieces of pasta. Another chose ice cream for her dessert, which is priced at £3 a scoop meaning her medium sized bowl of pasta with ragu was £26.80. I understand that costs have gone up since Covid but the combination of poor service, high cost and lack of generosity in portion size means that’s the last meal I’m likely to have at Le Querce. It may be because it’s winter but the range of ice cream flavours was far less interesting now as well. I wish I’d not gone back and only had the good memories!"
