"To kick things off, we ordered a sharing plate for two that included chicken satay, pork skewers, crab crackers, and crispy spring rolls, accompanied by various dips. Everything was delicious, but the pork skewers were a standout; the meat was incredibly tender, and the tamarind sauce was perfectly balanced. The chicken satay was also enjoyable, flavorful, and not dry like chicken can sometimes be. I felt that the portion was a bit light since it cost £14 for two servings, and each of us only got one of each item, but in hindsight, it seemed reasonable as a starter before the main course. For our mains, we each ordered a noodle dish—I had the Pad Thai, and my partner had the prawn drunken noodles, and we shared a plate of stir-fried eggplant. The portions for the mains were generous, and my Pad Thai was exactly what I wanted—delicious! The drunken noodles were also fantastic, with good prawns. The eggplant was the real highlight; it was soft and silky, beautifully cooked with an incredibly rich, flavorful sauce. I was glad we shared it, as it was quite rich. We paired our meal with a bottle of house white wine, which was nice, light, and fruity, complementing the food perfectly. The food came out quickly, which is ideal for a pre-theater dinner, but we never felt rushed and were able to enjoy our wine and relax a bit before heading out. The restaurant was fully booked, so I recommend making a reservation for a pre-theater meal through their website. It's worth noting that a service fee is automatically added to the bill, just so you're aware. For two people (possibly 2.5 courses and wine), our meal came to £75, including tips, which is a bit more than we would typically spend, but completely reasonable for the quality of dining in London’s theater district."

"After a lovely day, we just had the worst meal we've had in Liverpool. Avoid Rosa's Thai on Albert Dock. We went in because the menu looked good and the restaurant was obviously popular. It was packed. We soon found the two kitchen staff, and two waiting staff plus manager were catering for a full restaurant, a private party upstairs, and takeaway orders. This explains the terrible service but not the bad food or appalling attitudes. Steve's beef massaman had a nice sauce but inedibly tough meat and tough potatoes. Even the sliced onions were semi-crunchy rather than tender. My crispy chicken with garlic rice was edible despite being almost cold so we shared that. My roti was so greasy it stuck together in a solid mass in its paper sleeve. The couple on the next table were there when we arrived and had ordered. The table on their other side was filled just after ours. The table on their other side got their food before us. I could see ours sitting under the heat lamps waiting to be served with theirs, and it showed up soon after. The first couple's didn't. As we were eating, a waitress came and asked if they wanted the bill so they told her they wanted their food. She immediately spoke to the manager who did nothing. After another few minutes Steve spoke to the manager who not only did nothing, but walked way without answering him. They left without being served and without an apology. We told the manager how unhappy we were and she removed the beef massaman from our bill. She offered to refund the service charge but walked away without doing so. She did not apologise for anything, but spoke to us in the manner of a robot who was just too busy to turn on the empathy circuit, or indeed the customer service programme. I understand completely that she and the staff were overwhelmed. There's no excuse for making that the customers' problem, or for a classic slow-cooked Thai dish to taste as if it were hastily assembled from leftovers and not given long enough in the microwave. Even a minimal apology could have helped mollify everyone, but it wasn't on offer. So if you want a good meal in Liverpool there are lots of places. Unfortunately Rosa's Thai on Albert Dock is not one of them."
