"This place unfortunately closed as a restaurant in August 2018 and should not be on Tripadvisor as a restaurant. The obligatory Rating above is not to reflect the restaurant but because there is no alternative way of indicating closure. They must have lost a lot of goodwill, and of course the previous CAMRA ratings are now irrelevant."

"Our reserved table was by the fire but was too warm for us on a warm October day but the friendly staff found us another place even though it was busy. The menu was limited at lunch time but we chose two courses and the food was excellent. Our starter was a Waldorf salad with a local cheese which had been grilled like a creme brulee. It was delicious. Mains were scampi and burger both with triple cooked chips. These were all homemade and very good."
