"We came to our dinner with our friends just before 5:00. The restaurant was obviously busy, but there was no one on the desk there were several couples waiting for me to go to the bar to ask when eventually a young boy might ask he could help that I said that we had a booking for 5 pm gave my name he went up and came back saying that he wasn't our name and asked if it was definitely booked, he told us to go to find out about going up and going up while I had been busy We got the pre-theater menu service was good Our appetizers came ours was fine, our friends said meatballs were delicious dinner was fine, although my husband Lasagne was not particularly big and was burned around the edges was Risotto, what nice our friends said, it was nice that she came Salmon Coffees quite fast and were informed that candy ran a bit behind, what was obviously busy."

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"I stayed here during my 2023 John O'Groats to Lands End ride, when I was accompanied by my wife and 13 year old son, who were acting as support crew. The Sun Hotel is a quirky boutique hotel housed in an historic building with extensive accommodation located above the pub and accessed via a unique flight of stairs and a labyrinth of intriguing corridors set out on different floors. Indeed, as you wander through, you are able to learn much about its character and history from many informative notes displayed on the walls. We shared a snug family room with a camp bed for our son but we were very comfortable. Our ensuite bathroom was clean and bright with a bath, shower and toiletries provided. The usual kettle, tea and coffee were provided but with limited alternative options. Make sure you turn off the provided digital alarm clock before slumbers unless you need an early start! There are truly are some larks out there. The room was a little noisy overnight where it was overlooking the street at the front – a combination of late night revellers and morning deliveries – but this is to be expected when you stay in the heart of a city. Lancaster was literally right on our doorstep. The staff were incredibly welcoming and approachable even before our stay responding promptly to any queries we had. We enjoyed dinner in the pub on the ground floor which was not overly noisy with a good atmosphere and attentive staff. The food was good and inexpensive, especially if you share a platter. Having booked direct with the hotel, our stay included breakfast from a set menu, served in the bar area downstairs. This was extensive ranging from the traditional cooked full English breakfast to many plant based and fruit alternatives, including pancakes, acai smoothie and granola jar. It is advisable to pre book this the night before to reduce waiting times in the morning if you are in a rush. Tea, coffee and fruit juice freely available The hotel is found on a complicated one way system with heavy traffic but well handled by Google. The cycle route approaches on quiet canal path but I did push up a one way street to the hotel rather than cycle a circuitous route around the one way. The only drawback is that there is no onsite parking not a problem if you only have a bike. At the time of our stay, there was paid street parking outside the hotel on the road for up to 1 hr or free overnight from 6 pm until 8 am. We would advise checking Google for parking locations beforehand to find alternatives, especially if the recommended nearby multi storey parking is not suitable because of a roof box, etc. My bike was locked away in a cellar inside, down a steep flight of stairs and only accessible by staff."

"After reading reviews and staying nearby, we decided to make a reservation at Ravello and we were glad we did. The entire experience, from beginning to end, was fantastic. The restaurant is cozy and inviting, and all the staff were very friendly. The service was excellent, not rushed at all, and the food and wine selection were impeccable. It's a pity we don't live closer, as this would definitely become a regular spot for us to visit. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others."

"Meal Type: Dinner Price per Person: £30–40 Food Rating: 5/5 Service Rating: 5/5 Atmosphere Rating: 5/5 Parking: Ample Parking Available Parking Options: Free Parking Lot I had a fantastic dinner experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely top-notch, earning a perfect score of 5. The service was equally impressive, with attentive and friendly staff that made the evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was delightful, creating the perfect setting for a meal. Additionally, there is plenty of parking available, and it's all free, which is a bonus! Overall, I highly recommend this dining spot."

"Came here as I'd heard the food was good and they have a good offer. Yes the main course was a good price, but when you factor in starters, garlic breads, desserts and wine it all evens out and your bill is still what it is. The interior is a little looking but it's the food that counts. My risotto was really good I'd come back just to have this again!! Our desserts were chocolate fudge cake served with very poor quality custard (I couldn't eat it, plus it was so gloopy it was stuck in the jug) and cheap ice cream. The cake was standard costco type cake, so they couldve given us a bigger slice considering it was £6 or so. We asked for the cake to be warm but was one was cold the other very very slightly warmed like it had only had 10 seconds in the microwave. Service is reasonably friendly very casual e.g. waiter in jeans, waitress in leggings and trainers."

"ring! that was the first time in the new restaurant we always loved. we had our appetizers who were beautiful when I saw that one of the chefs sniffed into his hand, someone said: "bless you", so he was heard by someone. in the kitchen, he knew his mouth with his hand and then some spaghetti out of a package without washing his hands. we told the waiter when he came to take away our ancestors, we couldn't stay for the main course after we saw that. he still wanted to charge us for the full price for the starter until I asked him to bang something for our disappointing experience, but he only knocked off the cheapest one. he said he would take the thing seriously, but if that were my restaurant, I wouldn't charge the customers if they had to leave because they witnessed such a disgusting act."

"This is a lovely Italian restaurant with a varied menu of pizza, pasta , steak, chicken, liver, lamb and fish. It is quite large but when we went it was not full. Could this be because Trip Advisor says it's only open for takeaways? It was certainly very busy with takeaways. We waited a little longer than we expected to eat but the meal was worth waiting for. I had liver in butter and sage and because I am not keen on mash I had some sauteed potatoes instead. My partner had lamb with amsh, green beans and a rosemary sauce. For dessert I had passion fruit cheesecake and my partner had sticky toffee pudding very light as it was a large piece. They had 0% alcohol beer, not always available elsewhere and my pinot grigio blush was good. I would have given it 5 stars but it was a bit cold."

"Visited again unfortunately even though the restaurant was quiet it was poorly organised. We ordered soon after sitting down, we got out drinks quickly but then waited and waited, the couple on the next table who came in after us were served their starter and...we were still waiting, after waiting we were just about to ask when the waiter came over and apologised, that there had been a mix up and retook our order. The chef came out and apologised for the mistake. We had our starter and then our mains, unfortunately the vegetarian lasagne was not full heated and had to go back. We got the starter taken off the bill and a free round of drinks, some compensation. The menu has recently changed but there was no specials to compliment the small menu. Still limited range on vegetarian and vegan options. You would think with a small menu they could at least make sure the food was properly heated, on a previous visit in December we had to send a dish back to be fully heated as well. The service was poorly organised, they need to have somebody in charge taking an overview to make sure that everybody is getting the appropriate service."
