"I have shopped at Phoenicia for many years. Whenever I go visit family I like to bring them a selection of Lebanese sweets and Phoenicia was just the place to get them. Until today (around12h30)! I needed 2 trays with a selection of sweets. This came to just above £8.00. I had other items I wanted to get from the shop so asked if I could pay for the sweets at the main till (as I have always done in the past). I was told no . When I went to pay by card I was then told that I had to pay cash as it was under £10.00. I did not have the cash with me and pointed out that my shopping would come to more than £10.00 once I completed it. Still no. I left the sweets behind, proceeded with the rest of my shopping and out of interest asked at the main till whether rules had changed and sweets purchased at the counter had to be paid there. I was told that I could indeed pay at the main till just like I had done many times in the past! And 1 more thing... my shopping also came to £8.52 yet I was (surprisingly) able to pay by card for it at the main till. To say that I am disappointed by the service of 1 member of staff is understating it. I will opt to go to Edgware Road/Marble Arch from now on. Phoenicia is after all not the only Lebanese shop/restaurant in London!"
