"I have been a longtime patron of Maggie May's. While it may not be a fancy restaurant, they serve delicious home-cooked meals. The restaurant used to be known for having one of the best and largest breakfasts in Belfast. However, recently I have noticed a decline in the quality and portion size of the food. I have had a few disappointing deliveries, so I now prefer to dine in. During my recent visit, I was disappointed to see that the veggie fry was nearly half the size it used to be and now costs £9.50. The quality of the ingredients also seems to have decreased. Despite this, Maggie May's still offers a good variety of dishes, including vegetarian and vegan options. While I recommend sticking to more traditional menu items, such as breakfasts, chips, and milkshakes, overall the food is still decent. It is important to note that the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible and has only one small toilet at the back without changing facilities."

"Yesterday, my family and I visited The Old Friar for Sunday dinner to celebrate Mother's and Father's Day. When we arrived, the young host who greeted us seemed unaware of our reservation for 7. We were seated next to a window covered with numerous flies, which made us uncomfortable. Despite politely asking to be moved, we were told there was nothing they could do about the flies. Our food took three attempts to get right, and my son's burger arrived without the cheese and speck we had ordered. When we mentioned this to the waiter, a red-haired lady came over and accused us of lying. This confrontation was embarrassing and upsetting, especially for my son. The service was incredibly poor, and we felt humiliated throughout our meal. We will not be returning to The Old Friar, as our experience was marred by rude and insulting service. The only positive aspect was that the food was decent, though overpriced. I urge others to avoid this restaurant due to the terrible service and lack of professionalism."

"it seems a nice place and would seem that it is mainly designed for eating on the left side with a small dark bar to the right. we went for a drink, and a beer plus a koks came to £7.90 which I thought expensive, and there was only my missus and I in there. it looks a bit tired with red curtains that cover the windows and place away from the rail. the shrubs grow over the windows, so they could do with a cut, and a lighter color scheme would make a big difference. if I had a critique, it is that the herrentoilette is pretty dirty and it absolutely stinks there in the stalute urine. the many bleach blocks in the fall and the plug-in air refresher are not really sorting out the problem, and I didn't really want to go back in there when I'm honest. the OSB board makes it like a construction site toilet block and one of the models has been broken so that it does not work. on the way I noticed that the floor of one of the doublers is completely rotted, so with a new weather strip, so the place needs a bit dc. I would go back, and it will certainly look better in the darkness where some of the maintenance problems are less obvious, but these men toilets are really bad."

"Tried here at the last minute when tying to get a Sunday roast and everywhere else was fully booked. The outside of the pub isn’t very appealing or inviting and I probably wouldn’t have gone in if I hadn’t read some good reviews beforehand. Once inside though, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were in a hurry as it was Halloween and the children wanted to go out trick or treating, so we only had a main course, but it was a great roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, parsnips etc. Nice big portion, well presented and delicious. They had also made a great effort with the Halloween decorations and gave out sweets to the children too. Would definitely return."
