"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"the food generally was very good and tastey although a very limited menu, especially the main courses for vegetarians... only 1 option....... so we settled for 2 starters each and a dessert which was yummie.... the chocolate brownie.... The service was extreamly slow even though we were the only table in at one point and although the staff were very polite and pleasant they lacked va va voom and the ability to make you feel special. The price structure seemed a bit pricey but would have been acceptable if the ambiance and service had matched the food Overall an OK evening but nothing to encourage a return visit any time soon"

"it has beautiful interiors with live jazz music in the night! always a nice experience to go and dinate here! it can also be a nice choice for special occasions, as the ambiente is beautiful with high ceilings! I am not too familiar with French cuisine, but eating enjoyed at both places! it would be amazing if they increased the options in their meal schedules!"

"I actually attended on the Friday for evening dinner. We were suppose to have gone again on the Sunday afternoon. But decided to give it a miss. I was not as impressed as I once was with this place. I have been here a few times and have enjoyed. But this time I did not enjoy the meal. Some of it was cold. I ordered Irish coffee. They got sent back times. First ones never looked right. Second one very cold. Third time was fine. Even the cheese board was very minimal."

"Called in this evening at half seven, and there were a few empty tables. Four people looking dinner having read reviews and noting kitchen advertised as open to half eight. Asked the barmaid if still serving food and was told yes and take an empty table. Went up to barman and asked for menu to be told the kitchen is not really open! Explained we had just been told it was and he replied ‘well we don’t have a lot left’. Then we asked ‘well what do you have left?’ and the answer was not a list of dishes but the bluntly delivered ‘well it will be a long wait’. Rude and unwelcoming so we told him ‘tell you what, you clearly don’t want to serve us, thanks for the inhospitable welcome. We are going elsewhere’. Atrocious, rude, and clearly just could not be bothered!"

"We had the most delicious three course lunch here , what a find! The food is freshly prepared, cooked to order, so there is a bit of waiting, but oh my, is it worth it. We started with tempura vegetables and prawns, so light and crispy and utterly delicious. Then Thai style haddock with lemongrass, ginger and coriander, light and fragrant. Our desserts were also wonderful, home prepared and a lovely end to the meal. We hope to return! "I enjoyed a Festive lunch with 5 former colleagues at Iris on Saturday 8th December. We were made very welcome and although the restaurant was full the staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was superb and it was very reasonably priced. Not only were we provided with the Festive Lunch Menu but we also had the option of choosing from the a la Carte menu. Room was well spread out for Covid until a party of 10 arrived and all sat together. Very hard for staff to split them and adhere to rules. This made me feel quite uncomfortable. "Booked for our daughter’s dinner celebration. Started badly with a surly welcome from the lady (R) at the front desk. When we asked for a change of table so we could sit at the window (which we had requested and confirmed several weeks prior) she begrudgingly “allowed” us to move. That really set the tone. My wife ordered an Aperol Spritz reiterating that she wanted Soda water. An Aperol Soda arrived. When we flagged that we had ordered an Aperol Spritz, Rebecca told the barman to “just throw a Prosecco in there”. We then overheard her conversation with the barman, very clearly discussing how my wife was “another difficult one” and from that point she didn’t come near us. The atmosphere was tense and unwelcoming to say the least. The rest of the staff were extremely professional courteous, attentive, and friendly and our food was equally good. The squid starter was light and extremely tasty, with a hint of chilli heat. Our main courses (prawn risotto and lamb ragu tortellini) were generous, well seasoned and tasty. The wine (Alvarinho from Portugal) was crisp and well priced. Much as we enjoyed the food, and the service from most of the staff, this is not the first time we’ve had a poor experience with front of house here . And from some of the other people we’ve shared our experience with, they have similar feedback. Take note Rebecca the rest of your staff are showing you how to do it."

"Modern and cool restaurant. I'm a solo diner, I was offered a table nest some steps, but I asked and was moved immediately to a better spot from my point of view. Able to provide cocktails not on their limited list. Food was really great for me, although it seems to be big on steaks. Limited selection of wine by the glass, but I enjoyed my choice. Disappointed not able to get a glass of prosecco. But did enjoy my pre dinner Aperol spritz. Music is lound and good. I enjoyed it. Service was excellent my waiter Edward was very personable. "The restaurant had no atmosphere whatsoever, it was cold, the lighting was inadequate for dining, there was no background music, which might have helped, we were the only people in the place and it was like a mausoleum. The food wasn't good quality, certainly not for the price charged. We booked as we didn't know the area, but went out into the town afterwards to meet up with a business colleague and realised there's a good range of really good restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. We actually decided to eat out for breakfast as we couldn't face the dining room again, and had a great breakfast at a lovely little Scandi-style cafe in the town."
