"We went to dinner on Friday after work with friends. At first, we thought it was pretty quiet for a Friday night, but the atmosphere picked up. The ambiance was lovely, very cozy and intimate, and the waiter who served us was very friendly, not intrusive but informative when needed. For starters, we all had a variety of dishes: pate della casa, antipasto della casa, salad, and eggplant parmigiana. For mains, we had a T-bone steak, classic pasta dish, and a delicious chicken romano dish. Overall, we were satisfied with our meals, the seasoning, and the flavors were great. However, my friends who had the steak were not overly impressed. They felt that the texture of the meat suggested it might have been frozen at some point, rather than fresh. Despite this, we had a nice dining experience and would consider coming back. Next time, we may stick to the authentic Italian dishes as this is an Italian restaurant, and they do them very well."

"A colleague of mine booked a table for 25 as part of a works night out. It was also my leaving do from Nationwide Building Society. I was the first to arrive and received a warm welcome. I was shown upstairs to where the table had been prepared, it looked amazing. There was a seating area where I could wait for my colleagues and a bar to order drinks. The meals had all been pre ordered and came out as soon as everyone had arrived. The waiters and waitresses were attentive and checked the food was to our satisfaction as well as making sure we had ample drinks. I ordered Pennette Mediterranea which was a vegetarian pasta dish and it was delicious. At the end of the meal we all paid individually which was also a great service. Lovely experience all round, thank you."

"A meal at Giorgio leaves you believing that the world is a better place. Giorgio, the man himself, and his staff play the perfect hosts warm, friendly and attentive. The best olives are to be found here; they are complimentary but I wouldn't mind spending a small fortune on them. What keeps me coming back though is the heavenly crab spaghetti think generous amount of fresh crab meat, al dente spaghetti, all soaked in the best olive oil and flavoured with fragrant chillis and garlic. The world is a better place if all restaurants are like Giorgio."

"I went to the restaurant at about 18:30 yesterday because I fancied some pasta and the reviews were very good. The food was delicious, especially the minestrone soup, but what set it apart was the staff. Each of them was friendly, efficient, and understood the importance of customer service. My favourite moment of the evening was when my dessert took a while to come, which to be truthful I didn 't mind as I was happily sitting by the radiator with a glass of wine recommended by one of the waitresses. The waiter finally appeared with it and, with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, proclaimed, sorry, it took ages for the chef to cook your ice cream! In conclusion, the food and atmosphere are both excellent, and the staff are the cherry on top of the cake."

"I went to this restaurant when my in laws were in town that is their go to place for dining experience in Edinburgh. I was not disappointed. It was a lovely decor and absolutely delicious food They ordered some appetisers and I had a bite of each, which were good. Then we ordered the mains and everyone was delighted. I can only recommend the cannelloni with spinach and ricotta, so delicious The one thing I would say is that we felt a bit pressured to order more drinks or to order appetisers, which I didn't like. "Higher Prices, smaller portions I generally rate La Vita highly but this time I need to mark it down as I feel the pinch of shrinkflation, prices have gone up whilst portions (e.g. pasta) have become smaller. I also have to mention the dessert we got, it was the toffee popcorn sundae. Now my wife does not like complaining but as a trusted customer I must. In the past I have enjoyed this dessert but not the last two times. This most recent time, the dessert was 80% whipped cream and 20% ice cream, should be the other way around. If I wanted a mouthful of whipped cream I would just go to Asda and buy a can of sprayable cream and eat that. But I don't expect that in a restaurant charging almost £10 for the dessert. I don't know if its a money saving idea to give the customer less ice cream. The mains was still decent enough."

"beautiful. what a beautiful place. we rarely dare over the road to trongate, but when we do, we have always made a note to go to this place. we were on Saturday night. the place was really busy so I would recommend the booking. when we arrived, there was a waiting queue from the door of men waiting to show their tables. they enter through a curtain and the dimly illuminated restaurant. everyone looked really happy and was happy to eat. the only mistake was a fairly dry pasta main. they also have the attached cafe e2 and they are connected by a corridor so that they can go there for a drink while waiting for their table. we would definitely return to esca."

"Went here randomly as the nearest place to where I met a business partner... and was blown away by the food quality and service. The staff were fantastic attentive and engaging, and clearly very experienced. The price seemed impossibly good for such high quality meals, with very decent portion sizes. The spicy chicken penne was amazing. The tomatoes tasted very real and the aroma reminded me of my Mediterranean heritage. The pizzas looked amazing too, freshly made on site from scratch, baked in view of the seating area, and a very good size considering the price and attention to detail. No silent adding of tips to the bill was the icing on the cake."

"We have dined at La Piazetta in Midhurst on several occasions, experiencing varying levels of satisfaction. After our most recent visit, I fear we may not return. We all selected items from the menu, but none of us were pleased with our meals. The appetizers were the only highlight, consisting mainly of prawns with Marie Rose sauce and melons wrapped in prosciutto. My main course, the veal escalope, was dry and tough, similar to what another member of our party ordered. The other main dish featured a heavy fish that was covered in an oddly sweet sauce, which did not work well at all. The desserts were nearly enjoyable, but the portions were excessive, especially the tiramisu. The chocolate cake was decent but nothing memorable. I think this will be our last visit."

"Third visit, had not used restaurant recently. Nice decor and friendly staff. 3 of us had the set menu cost £22 included a coffee and two courses. I had a nice aubergine starter would have again followed by rost lamb excellent meat..,my husband had monk fish with olives and chilli garlic he said it overpowered the delicate fish which was a shame for him. 3 of our friends had food from a la carte menu I would say starters were a bit pricey but looked good."

"We bought a two course dinner and wine for two on Groupon for my husbands birthday and I had booked a table ahead of time. Upon arrival staff were extremely rude and made it clear they had no reservation despite me booking and getting a confirmation email. Aside from that we were told we could stay. We had our new born with us in the push chair and despite the restaurant being completely empty of customers inside we were directed to a table right at the opened doors with the draft and cigarette smoke wafting in. When we asked to change tables the waitress was quite flippant. We couldn't fault the food, it was a tasty meal, however the service was poor and staff were very unfriendly. Would have expected much more after reading such exemplary ratings online. I don't think we would go again, as a dining experience isn't just about the food, it's about the welcome you get and the kind of service you receive"

"such a beautiful place loves the style and ambiente; super clean, modern, but warm and welcoming with beautiful wood cladding and exposed beams. lighting is great, beautiful and warm not too bright. feels like the design and the aesthetics of the place were really thought out and busy. the personal was super attentive, friendly and personal not overlaid or intrusive. it felt like they enjoyed being there as much as they want us to enjoy it. the food/drink menus are extensive, with many veg/bread options. super tasty, beautifully presented and quickly produced with nothing to criticize whatever. Cocktail selection is brilliant, and we enjoyed the taste and presentation of the ones we had. a light nigger is that the cocktail menu “Any 3 for 2” on cocktails, which are specified individually at £8,50 per price. we did not get the impression that this applies only to 3 of the same cocktail. a little strange as they are all the same price. that was my only criticism, as far as the experience goes, but that doesn't mean it wasn't worth it. in total we had a nice time! in any case soon to come back."
