"Poor service and rude manager. I dined at Taste of China this evening along with two friends. I ordered a glass of white wine which tasted very bad. I had 3 sips and couldn't bare the taste. I therefore opted for water. Upon receiving the bill, I informed the male manager that the wine tasted very bad (although it was actually toxic and tasted worse than bleach I was trying to be polite) and that was the reason I hadn't drunk the wine. He said that there was nothing wrong with the wine and the issue was with my personal taste. He did not offer to remove the cost of the wine from the bill. "We came here for my daughters 16th last July which was amazing and my dads 70th birthday this weekend and had a night to remember. The staff are friendly the food was delicious plentiful but what really made the night was the DJ and his music. I love the birthday sing along tradition here and the photos taken of the night. Our table was a loud mad so Thankyou for putting up with us xx. My dad had the best time xx"

"Chung Ying is a mix of a restaurant and a bar. Contemporary setting with both a great food menu and a great cocktail menu. Good atmosphere and when eating it doesn't feel as if a rowdy bar has taken over and when there to drink it doesn't feel like a stuffy formal restaurant, so a good mix. We went for a drink on the Friday as part of the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend and were actually looking to eat there so were really disappointed to find that they'd booked a large function; surely they must have known the trade from the Cocktail Weekend would make them busier anyway so that was disappointing. Returned the next day though to tick the venue off the list and were not disappointed with the drink which was delicious and seeing people around us having items off a special weekend dim sum menu whetted the appetite so we had an item off there as well which was very tasty. Good fast service."
