"We had cocktails in the bar followed by dinner in the restaurant. Staff are very friendly and will make up any cocktail, even if not on the menu delicious raspberry martinis : Only slight neg is that bar food closed at 9pm which seems a tad early and is around the point in the evening when you start needing something to soak up the drinks! We adjourned to the restaurant upstairs looking for a lighter bite....I had the hot salmon, potato and watercress salad starter as a main which really fit the bill. The restaurant service is also very good, with the same friendly but prompt attention. Good to see that 13 years after my very first visit to Smiths it's still delivering a great night out."
