Delicious food.fish and chips.. homemade salmon fish cakes and sweet potato fries .... burger..little granddaughter was given small bowl of chips by lovely Sophie at the bar..cute smiles as payment by Phoebe... definitely will be back.. large sized pub with great interior.."

"Began our evening with drinks outside which was very enjoyable, always a buzzy atmosphere at this pub. We moved inside to eat in the restaurant, unfortunately the food was disappointing on this occasion. The burgers were overcooked and dry and the fish and chips was mainly batter. We had Prosecco which was a special price of £20 a bottle (on Fridays) which is amazing value. We also had the Gavi which was extremely good."

"Fond memories of the long bar at the Sanderson. It was the last venue visited before the first lockdown hit. So delighted to receive an email announcing the reopening. Visited the long bar yesterday afternoon fully aware that the hotel itself is undergoing extensive refurbishment. Greeted by pleasant barman on arrival who gave us the bar list and a list of around 10 cocktails but said these were the house cocktails and he could make anything. He then left and a young lady served us. I asked for classic champagne cocktail and water. Before my husband could answer she walked away and when my husband pointed out she hadn’t taken his order she replied, with attitude, that she was getting the water . She then came back to say my cocktail wasn’t on the list so couldn’t put it through the till. No trace of the service level we have previously received at the Sanderson or have come to expect Won’t be returning"

"We ate here Friday evening. We were surprised how quiet it was given the nice weather and the venue. However, I assume this is a sign of the times we are currently living in. The whole of the area was very quiet too. We sat just inside next to the terrace, unfortunately the terrace tables had already been allocated. Still a very nice view. The food was very good and not overly expensive either. In particular fillet steak was very good. The service was excellent. A good balance between attentive and allowing space to enjoy your evening. And they regularly came by to top up our wine. Would recommend and return"

"Initial service was good but unfortunately it was the lady’s first day so knew very little of the menu and struggled to comprehend us take our order. A little confusion with whose steak was whose as the senior server didn’t seem to know which was which. In the end I and my client played pass the fillet steak until we were happy. Probably gone downhill under the Young’s ownership. £189 for 4 business steaks, no wine inc service. Perhaps time to start looking elsewhere for value and better quality. Average."

"The venue is is spacious and comfortable. The food is good enough although unsurprising. The hosting staff was very welcoming and sat us right away BUT it is almost all ruined by the clueless and extremely slow service. 20 minutes to get our order taken, we waited over 35 mn to get our mains after our starters , it took another good 15 minutes after asking to get the bill and another 10 to get someone to allow us ti pay ! I wish I could describe the food in more detail the Arancini starters were OK. We had the cod which was fresh and plain,, the side of greens was bland and served with a tea spoon as utensils. Just average."
