"What can I say? Being a local in Balham for 14 years now, I've seen restaurants come and go. Although The Cattle Grid started off ok and was very reasonably priced, I was totally shock to Se the price of the Ribs go up from £14.95 one month to £15.95 this month. These started off at £11.95 18 months ago. Being in the trade and knowing how much there are at cost, it discusts me on how much TCG are charging. And on top of that, they're only edible from Thursday-Saturday. Maybe TCG should seriously think about this issue and rectify it! As all the locals that have spoken to me and myself included, will not be going there again! Keep your pretentions to central London and not the...read more"

"Confirmed our booking over the OpenTable app, only to be turned away at the door. We arrived on time but were told they couldnât sit us for another hour and had not checked the bookings in over an hour. Donât offer the service if you canât fulfil the bookings."

"Penarth's top choice for Indian food takeout. Our household's go-to dish is the lamb biryani! The service is friendly and the food is absolutely delicious - you can't go wrong here!"

"This restaurant has a very authentic and local feel, with a casual atmosphere. Don't expect top-notch customer service as our cutlery was thrown on the table and the soup was spicy but not warmed up properly. Some dishes could use additional spices, like the summer rolls, which would benefit from a vinegar-based sauce. However, the special black fillet rice was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. The green Papaya salad was also enjoyable. The prawn crackers were tasty and different from the usual white crackers found at other restaurants. There were some hygiene concerns, as we had to ask for our table to be wiped down and noticed a questionable mark on the walls. Overall, a mixed experience but worth trying for the authentic flavors."
"A very local feeling at this place: homely and casual, but don 't expect 5 star customer service. Our cutlery was just thrown on the table, and soup was spilt but never wiped up. However, some very authentic food here! A few things to note: Lime juice is VERY limey. Only get if you have a taste for sour things! The summer rolls could 've done with additional seasoning on the inside, possibly. I suggest a vinegar based sauce. We got hoisin which I wasn 't sure was the best match. Special pork cutlet rice was very tasty! Ate more than I should 've but it was too good to not eat it all. Also very much enjoyed the green papaya salad. I believe my friend enjoyed their Pho. The portion size was massive! Prawn crackers are absolutely delicious and not like those plain white crackers you normally get from other restaurants Notes on hygiene: We had to ask for our table to be wiped down even though it 'd been cleared for a while Questionable marks on the walls? But as we weren 't licking the walls, it 's probably fine"
