After moving away from Greenwich, the only thing we miss about the town is this restaurant. Last week, I returned to Greenwich with my wife and we went back to the restaurant. "We (2 people) ordered beef fried noodles and king prawn fried rice for lunch. It was really big portion and good value. The fly rice was cooked professionally at Chinese way. Kind prawn was fresh. We tried also the Hong Kong style milk tea which is rare in western world. It was really a surprise. We will be back for sure. "This is the best fish and chips shop for miles, and it's the only one I frequent. I was 70 pence short for my order and mentioned that I could return a bottle of Pepsi. I ordered both takeaway and I was in the restaurant a few times and it was always good. after a short wait the deliveries always arrived and the food was of good quality. the service in restaurant is welcoming and attentive. they have a very large menu and cover different areas in asia, which makes it sometimes quite difficult to decide. eating is never disappointed and this is definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in the environment."

"Saturday evening family takeaway delivered to home was really poor, dish by dish 20% of Prawn Crackers were solid and inedible they were free fortunately Grilled Haloumi was as advertised and tasted ok but I’ve never had a smaller portion it was fair for the money. Japanese curry crispy chicken with udon noodles Gopping at best, the noodles were OK the”Golden crispy chicken” had the texture of spongy rotten fruit and the taste wasn’t much better, at best it tasted of flour and was as close to being crispy as a wet rizzla paper. Pad Thai This dish was barely passable, taste was reasonable, zero effort into looks. Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls OMG they even managed to get this one wrong, the batter was thoroughly uncooked and still soggy. All in All, if you are able to eat with your eyes shut and taste buds turned off then this is the takeaway for you."

"The Skylark is situated in a great location for a meal before a night out in Croydon. However, the atmosphere is not exactly upscale; I would even say it is family-friendly. Parking can be a bit tricky to find, so walking or taking the bus is a good option for locals. The food options often include a free beer, which is a nice touch. Many people rave about the fish and chips, but I haven't tried it yet as it seems quite heavy. I am, however, a big fan of the decent BBQ hot dog."

"I do keep coming back here because the food is good. Service, however, is abysmal. On too many occasions I’ve had food missing from my order. Yes, the food gets sent out but that’s not much good when you have to wait another 30mins for it. My most recent experience was NYE. Takeaway pre-ordered and paid for at 2pm for delivery at 7pm. I didn’t expect it to arrive dead on time but figured a pre-order should take priority. I called at 7:30pm as my order hadn’t arrived. This call turned out to be a reminder to actually prepare the food, never mind deliver it! It finally arrived at 8:30 pm. Not good enough!!"

"Well well well, it seems I've found the greatest place on earth. I was yearning for some food i asked some friends and got recommended new city. I am forever in debt to the friend that told me about this place. As i approached the location the scent i caught made me feel like i was floating. I walked through the door and was greeted by a friendly teen i introduced myself and asked for his name, it was Alan. I ordered fish, chips, char siu noodles, sweet and sour chicken and prawn chow Mein. The teen swiftly prepared my meal and we had a lovely chat whilst he did. As i took my food back i was itching to open it, as i took the first bite of my food i was strook by an immense sadness, a realisation, an epiphany that i would never again taste food of this calibre. New city single handedly produced the greatest dish i have ever experienced. I cannot recommend this place enough as it changed the course of my life with the first bite. Again i feel like i need to emphasise the politeness and level of cooking skill the teen behind the counter possessed and believe they have a real star. Again please check out new city"
