"We were a party of five and only one of three tables there on a Saturday evening. They crammed us around a small table and when we requested to move they said they were fully booked yet no one else arrived during our meal. It took over 20 minutes to get our drinks, which were sat on the bar and we had to ask the waitress to get, when they came, they were flat and weak. We waited a further 40 more minutes for food 2 of which were enjoyable but none of which were worth the £15 each. We left disappointed as it was meant to be a birthday celebration meal and the whole experience was just depressing. Only wish we had read other reviews before we went. Avoid, there are so many better places to eat in Loughborough."

"I didn't settle the bill, so I can only guess about that. My employers take space in Nova north, and London based colleagues recommended you, so as a firm, I expect we are with you regularly. We were served by a slim young lady who was Greek. She was very very good indeed. My 2 clients are not fussy people, and are long since retired, but they too thought she was fantastic, and I suspect that a hefty tip was given. Don't let her leave!!"

"Slingers is basically the same as the flight clubs that have been around for a few years. You pay to play for an hour on the darts and you can buy drinks and food. The food offering was slightly worse than last time we were here a year or so ago. Its mainly burgers and a few bits. Used to have great sides and sharing plates but these have sadly gone. The beer is also a bit of an acquired taste with no brands you'd probably know. It wasn't terrible but also not the best. The darts is fun but big warning if you are a group over 6 book separately. They will always try and put your whole group on one board. We ended up with 12 on one board paying the same per head as those next to us with only 4 players. As a result you only got a few throws each and felt expensive for the little time you had each. Overall a fun thing to do but probably won't come back very often as it's massively expensive for what it is."

"After not visiting this fried chicken restaurant for a few years due to lockdowns and the pandemic, we decided to book a table as a birthday treat. We made sure to book in advance to secure a table for the time we needed. The restaurant had all the standard COVID prevention measures in place, such as masks, dividers, hand sanitizer, and social distancing, which made us feel more comfortable. The service was good, with drinks being taken promptly and we never felt rushed throughout the evening. Our order included a Korean BBQ burger, Nashville Hot wings, 9 chicken tenders, a buffalo chicken burger, assorted fries and sides. The meal was tasty, with my fried burger not tasting greasy. The cocktails were decent, although the Chicken Rum lacked the flavor I remembered. We ended the evening with Churros and chocolate sauce, which hit the spot. Overall, it was a good experience, possibly helped by our excitement at getting out of the house for the evening."

"We arrived at the restaurant and found it closed. After calling the owner, we were informed that the cook was sick and they had to close for the day. There was no sign on the door and despite having our contact information, they did not bother to inform us in advance. With a 5-year-old and an 80-year-old in our group and heavy rain pouring down, this was very inconvenient. I will not be using their booking page again and cannot recommend the smokehouse. It seems like they may have been closed for a while. Instead, I would recommend trying Bella's across the street, which saved the day. The smokehouse was disappointingly unhelpful."

"My husband and I decided to visit the Oxford Street Kitchen at The Chequers Hotel during the Eat Out to Help Out period. Although we initially booked it as a backup, we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The Covid precautions, staff service, food quality - everything was top-notch. We never considered dining at a hotel before, but we were glad we gave it a try. This restaurant is definitely a great addition to our list of local dining spots."

"After relocating from California to Exeter in the middle of winter, my children and I dined at this restaurant. The pizza was delightful, as were the appetizers."

"This is the younger sister bar & kitchen to Urban Standard on Gloucester Road and, like it's older sibling, does not disappoint! We, a group of 5, came"

"8 of us descended on the pub, I've not been here for a long time and we went because we wanted to try their smoked meats. If you want to eat BBQ out, this is the place to go. We have some nibbles to start, the Pig Candy and Pig Jowl both fantastic. The dinner, three of shared two 2meat and a 3 meat tray so we could try all the meat. Only meat we didn't try was the beef short rib, but I imagine that will be just as amazing as the other meats. The sides went well with dinner, but I have to single out the coleslaw, coleslaw, love it or hate it, this one is the best restaurant slaw I have ever tasted, I'm fussy when it comes to coleslaw and this ticked all the boxes for me. I would even go as far to say I couldn't make it better at home."

"Lovely place to stay, right on the high street and 11 min drive to Highclere (Downton . Hotel is as expected old, has creaky and wonky floors which us expected but adds to the charm of the historic place. Inside it has been made to look modern and have all the mod cons. Charming bar area and separate dining area. The food was divine, a nice selection on the menu. Also a secret lit up garden out the back to sit on a warm day or evening. Sofas inside are lived in and some carpets but again adds to the charm of the hotel. Depending on the room you book the sizes vary. I had a single bed, large room for one, tv. Hangers in the wardrobe. Tea and coffee and plenty of milk. Bathroom is divine. Shower and bath and BIG fluffy white towels that go all the way around your body lol The staff are very friendly and accommodating. George head of maintenance checked something out for my parents and came found us to tell us all sorted and we ended up having a very interesting chat about his life etc. Martin on bar/dinner service so polite, nothing was to much trouble and very smiley. However the other girl on dinner service and the lady on reception (at 6.30pm on 14th aug also very lovely and helpful. I would recommended staying at this charming hotel"
