"We celebrated my birthday with the December set lunch menu, which was excellent, both in terms of food quality and value. They had just been informed that St Albans was to move into Tier 3 so they would have to close down shortly and cancel all the Christmas bookings, which was of course devastating for them, but this did not prevent them from offering us friendly and helpful service. They provided good gluten-free bread for my coeliac husband and were well-informed about what was available for him. We have eaten at Thompson before and have never been disappointed with the food or service."
