"I am extremely disappointed with the way we were treated at the restaurant. I had made a reservation online for 4 people for dinner at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve. Due to being on holiday abroad, I did not check my junk mail until 22 December, where I found a message stating that the kitchen would be closing at 6pm on Christmas Eve and asking us to change our booking to 5.45pm. After confirming the change over the phone, my guests and I arrived promptly at 5.45pm, only to be told that the kitchen had closed at 5pm. Despite their apologies, we were fortunate to find a table at the King's Arms across the road. I am feeling both angry and disgusted by this experience. I tried contacting the manager today, but was informed that they would not be available until 12.00. I requested a callback, but have not received one. As regular customers from Cookham, unless we receive more than just an apology, we will not be returning to the Crown again."
