"We had a family dinner on a busy Saturday night. Service was exemplary, despite the fact they were clearly very understaffed and very busy, our orders were taken promptly and efficiently and food and drinks delivered quickly. The food itself was a mixed bag. The lamb was excellent, the seasonal veg very tasty. The gammon was reasonable but the chips were overcooked and oily. What ruined the evening was the horrendous noise of the kitchen extractor fans. I appreciate it was a terribly hot evening and the kitchen staff need to not expire, but our table was next to the open kitchen window and the noise both made conversation difficult and was extremely unsettling. We did ask if another table was free but were unable to move. On those grounds, we are unlikely to return. But your staff should be applauded for working so hard under pressure they did a great job."
