"Having been an occasional but regular patron of S&P for over 40 years, I was disappointed to find that the familiar team had disappeared. My disappointment gave way to horror when I saw the menu prices, many of which appeared to have doubled since my 2022 visit ….. most disappointing of all, the dishes I chose were less well prepared than they had been before. On the positive side, the welcome from all staff, and the new maitre D, was warm and charming. The streetside terrace was nicely presented and most inviting. And we much appreciated a carafe of limoncello offered to finish our meal. Still have affection for the old place, but in my new retired status at these prices I shall have to think twice about a future visit. A special two or three course lunch price (not offered) may well have made the difference…"
