"Yum Yum is a great Thai restaurant that has been around for many years. It is set in a listed Georgian period building and is massive in size. Yum Yum has many different dining areas, including a section where diners can sit on floor cushions and eat from knee high tables and also features private dining rooms. The interior decor is both chic and contemporary and Yum Yum has a cool suave vibe about it. The eatery has a good cocktail bar and a rather large wine cellar. Yum Yum holds regular Jazz evenings in one of its lounges and periodically holds special Thai events for its diners. These can be a pleasant surprise and often turn the evening into more of an event than just a meal. There is an extensive menu and the quality of the dishes varies from good to very good, with one or two star dishes as well. This can be surprising as sometimes Yum Yum is extremely busy, having 300 covers, and yet they still manage to generally maintain the overall good quality of their dishes. The waitering staff are also generally very friendly and eager to please. I have eaten here many times overs the years and below are some of my favourite dishes. Crispy Soft Crabs, Hot Wings, Beef Paneng Curry, Chicken Ginger (Stir fry with Mushrooms), Lamb Mussaman Curry served with Pumpkin and Potatoes (my favourite dish), Lobster Pad Prik Pao (Whole lobster stir fried with chilli oil, soya sauce and oyster sauce), Pla Choo Chee (Whole Sea Bass cooked in a creamy red curry sauce) and the Squid with Chilli and Basil Leaves. Yum Yum always reminds me of my favourite Thai holiday resorts and makes me dream of my next far eastern holiday. If you love Thai food, I think that you will love Yum Yum. Halal."

"The Lanna Thai is something of an anomaly, having somehow managed to survive in Falkirk as everything around it hit the skids, yet nobody ever talks about it and it never seems busy. Located next door to the similarly enduring Railway Tavern near Grahamston train...station, the Lanna Thai is a small, traditionally decorated and family run Thai eatery that may rarely be overflowing, but is never entirely empty. Offering a full menu as well as and course specials, the restaurant's main talking point is its bring your own bottle licensing state, for which there are pros and cons. On the one hand, as someone who doesn't drink wine, it means I need to have any drinks I want pre-chilled and need to remember them. On the other, it means that you are getting drink you want, and if you like wine there's a Tesco literally less than a minute away. I've visited the place several times and always found the staff pleasant. I usually take courses from the budget menu, it's been a while but I'm positive it comes in at around and while the portions are smaller, that comes with the territory. Quality of the food is solid. Eaten there many times and never had a bad meal. At the same time I've never had an exceptional, rave about meal, but I'm definitely erring more towards the side of positivity here. As much as I wouldn't call it budget, it also isn't expensive either. I feel like my score is maybe a bit harsh, but understand I don't put it as out of badness. It's a solid little restaurant that I don't have many complaints about, I just don't really have anything the recommend you rush to try there though."
