"My family of five dined at Kouzu while on vacation. Each of us felt a very strange vibe at Kouzu. We were seated in a corner of the first level by a woman who then took our drink orders. There was only one or two other tables filled. My son ordered a soda—a coke. She said they didn’t serve any soda in the restaurant. Really? So he instead ordered a water. She proceeded to bring a large bottle of water that she opened in front of us. I asked what it was—that he wanted just a tap water in place of the soda they didn’t carry. The server then left the table. Another gentlemen came around and sort of took over. I asked him why they didn’t carry any other drinks except water—he said oh we have lemonade coke, Diet Coke etc. The next strange thing was the menu. They gave us ample time with the menu and when they came to take our order I asked what a certain thing was—he said oh that’s a priz five menu that’s different! This menu has never been passed out to us. This was a sushi restaurant and what is nice—and needed quite honestly—is a rundown of each item as it’s placed on the table, as the majority of us ordered a la carte. This didn’t happen. I will say the food itself was delicious, however, the strange vibe we got coupled with the sizable price tag would deter me from patronizing this restaurant again if given the chance."

"If you don’t want to wait outside in the chilling wind with an empty stomach and with no one attend to you, then avoid this restaurant. After dining at this restaurant today, I can say that all the negative reviews are true. The food is average yet extremely overpriced (you can definitely get much better food at this price). Can you imagine a main dish without rice? Well, here they charge a small bowl of rice for 4 pounds! Service is surprisingly horrible. My friends and I asked them if there were any table available and the woman at the reception told us to just wait 10 minutes outside and would offer us a table as soon as there was one empty. We agreed and sat outside. 10 minutes later, she came out and told us that we did not have a reservation and they would accommodate other guests first. We thought that’s fine, so agreed to dine outside. Then the male waiter got our order wrong, and we sat at the table outside with chilly night wind for another 20 minutes before we were greeted with only one main dish and two side dishes. We ordered 4 main chicken teriyaki, yet only one was served, and without rice! Even though we did order sushi rice! When we realized things were not quite right, it had already been 40 minutes! We had to went inside and complained to the chef, but he was irresponsive. We complained to the waiter, they just kept saying they were sorry (they should feel sorry) without doing anything practical to get our meal ready. It is literally the most ridiculous meal I have ever had in London. My friends and I had to eat a whole pack of Oreo because we were starving and frozen. We should have just walked away, after all no staff cared about and attended to us. Finally, after one hour waiting, we were finally able to sit inside and served with food. But how can we happily eat our food with everything that’s happened? It was supposed to be a happy night out and gathering but it was ruined. They kept saying sorry, but it is pointless. The chef gave us 10% discount in the end as an apology, but it can hardly compensate for our loss. The restaurant is poorly managed and organized. Would never visit there again."

"It only just occurred to me that I've never left a review here for our absolute favorite sushi restaurant in the Springs. I can't say enough good things about them. First, the sushi is so fresh, and the portions are generous. I've never found another restaurant (not just in the Springs, but anywhere I've traveled where such thick, skillfully sliced filets of fish topped a minimal portion of rice on their nori selections. I brought co workers from my company's home office in Melbourne, FL, and they said it was the best sushi they've ever eaten. Did you catch that?? They're from a coastal city in FLORIDA!! It was a great endorsement for AI. As for the staff, they're wonderful. And extremely hard working. It's a family business, and there are times when you'll find all the family members working. As regulars, we're often greeted with a hug. : COVID has affected all restaurant businesses in many ways. Any comments I've read here, short of praising the restaurant, don't seem to take that into account. As any restaurant owner or manager in this city (or, country, for that matter , will tell you, they either can't find anyone to work, or can't keep anyone. It's ridiculous. Recently, the owner of another Asian establishment here in town asked me if I knew anyone who'd be interested in a cashier job. He was paying $20 an hour, and couldn't find anyone to take it!! That's what the restaurant industry is facing these days. Anyway, if you love sushi, and you haven't already been to AI on Centennial (not to be mistaken for AI on Powers, which is owned and operated by different people , you need to give them a try. You'll discover great food and friendly people. And, you'll be a customer for life!"
