"First class. Food and service were superb. Truly accomplished and delicious dishes. My friend, who doesn’t really care much for food, declared the honey parfait dessert to be the best thing he’d ever eaten. I had the rhubarb soufflé, the presentation of which is hilariously risqué! The rack of Dover sole was exquisite. Lots of little treats too. The sommelier was really good even though we weren’t splashing out on wine on this occasion. Her dirty dry martinis were excellent. Overall, a five-star experience. Ambience-wise, it was a bit quiet on Saturday lunch; and it is undeniably expensive. No doubt a causal connection between those two minor quibbles. However, we both agreed that it was worth it and have spent comparable sums (or more) elsewhere for far less. The team behind this restaurant are at the top of their game: they appear to love what they do; and pull out the stops to give their guests a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and kind but not intrusive. Consummate professionals."

"Made plans to come here for lunch after a morning visit to Camera Obscura which is just a little way up the mile. Been here before years ago loved it…love it still! Great ambience, fantastic service and amazing food all hot, fresh and tasty. Large portions too! I can definitely recommend the haggis bites they’re delicious. Shout out to our sever Sophie who was lovely; welcoming, friendly efficient. Love this place will return."

I love eating American style along with the friendly service. the filling station coast to coast is an american restaurant bar. the atmosphere is created by playing classic American soundtracks and retro decoration. my favourite dish that I always go back and forth are the kentucky wings with Louisiana sauce. nom! and of course there is always space for one or two of the desert:D read them on my blog posts from the cocktail master class that is hosted by filling station and reintroducing the filling station in the edinburgh royal mile."

"from beginning to end, this can only be described as one of my worst restaurants experiences. we were a little early on our table so we were invited to stand at the bar to wait for our table. we waited and waited and waited for twenty minutes to serve and there was only one person in front of us. We were totally ignored while the two people behind the bar took care of the table orders. eating ordered and when it came, it was wrong so that the food of my wife had to go back. another order was also wrong and they promised to bring the fritten asap. they came when we all finished our eating. the food of my wife came back right, but the plate was full of fat and pommes was microwave. eating all looked completely inconspicuous. the manager took the cost for the meal of my wife from the bill and the riders who never arrived but nothing for our experience or offered more drinks. unnecessary to say that we never go back. it felt as if they really did not deal with the volume of people."

In addition, they offer a special 5 GBP frying dinner if each individual buys at least 10GBP in drinks. "--- First of all, this is the best place I’ve been to with my best friend. For some reason, we often find ourselves at restaurants where the quality of food doesn't match the price, but that was not the case here. I’ll break my review down into sections, starting with the quality of the food. **Quality of Food:** I couldn’t fault it at all. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we both agreed on that. The fish and burger were particularly memorable; neither of them left us feeling sluggish or unwell because they were cooked to perfection. They had a homemade feel and were healthy yet filling—way better than a greasy fish and chips joint or a typical burger place. Everything was served hot and met very high standards. For starters, we shared some garlic bread, which was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. It was a generous portion for two, and it came with a sharp knife, allowing us to cut it into eight pieces—four satisfying pieces each. For dessert, they had some great options, like honeycomb milkshakes and other unique offerings that you don’t often see, but sadly, they ran out of what my friend wanted. We ended up going for the classic vanilla milkshake and fudge cake, which I can confidently say was amazing. It was the best dessert I’ve had in a long time! It was so creamy, and the vanilla ice cream was anything but boring; it tasted exactly like proper vanilla should. **Price of Food:** We were pleasantly surprised when our bill came to just £37, especially considering the generous portions we received. It was absolutely worth the price. Just a note about leaving tips: if you want to tip by card, you need to ask the staff to add it into the card machine because they have to input the amount manually. **Staff:** The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Even the bartenders noticed my friend’s shopping bag and kindly found a plastic bag for them. **Service:** The service was prompt, and if we needed more time before ordering dessert, they happily accommodated us. Since we visited on a Monday, it wasn’t too busy, which meant we could enjoy our meal at a comfortable pace. **Variety of Menu:** They offered an extensive menu with so many options. Even as someone who can be quite picky, I found plenty of choices to satisfy my cravings. There wasn’t a huge variety of desserts, but the options they had were excellent. **Cleanliness:** Everywhere seemed immaculate, including the cutlery. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant!"

As for my main course, the salmon was bland and mushy, and the rice was overcooked and clumpy. The supposed creole chicken had no discernible flavor. My partner wasn't very impressed with their burger either, describing it as just okay. Our vegetarian friend ordered a salad and had a similar experience, finding it lacking in flavor."

"Popped in today before the cinema decided to try it due to offer for being Unlimited Card holders. Despite being local for many years, we had never visited and were not sure what to expect, but I am pleased to say it was a really enjoyable visit. I had the American Melt (chicken schnitzel) and my partner had a cheese and bacon burger. The food was tasty, well presented, good portion size and fresh tasting. The decor of the restaurant is very well done, really pleasant surroundings and ambience. The service was also excellent. Dani hosted us on our way in, and we were also served by a fellow with a beard, who I think I was a member of Management. Their interactions were sincere, warm and we also had a good chat at the end about our perceptions as first time visitors, and he clearly cared greatly about the business and delivering a good experience. Could not fault it and will definitely be back and spead the word far surpasses the other offering by the cinema here. Thanks Coast to Coast!"

"After we have booked through the opentable app for 18.45 clock, we actually arrived at over 45 minutes early, but it was not a problem for the staff and we were sitting fast. the starters arrived soon after ordering and were very nice. for the net we had made the burgers and 2 of our party requested well, and the third was a regularly cooked burger, in contrast to some restaurants that cannot differentiate and cook as they were the burgers to this occasion were served exactly as we requested. we have shown on a NEC show, so it is regrettable that we are continuing from soihull."

"Designed like an American restaurant with a mix of booths and tables but it wasn’t squashed. The waitress was friendly, professional and helpful. The music wasn’t so loud you couldn’t hear each other and you didn’t feel rushed to finish like some places. The food was really good and the portions were sensible. One of our party had a steak which was over done but when mentioned to the waitress she was very apologetic and reduced the bill to compensate. We all had a great time and left very happy with the service and the food on the whole. I would definitely go back just for lunch or dinner with friends."

"There aren't plenty of suitable options for vegans so hopefully you’re not too hungry as quantities are quite small. We ordered a few tapas (bang bang cauliflower, vegan red dragon roll, chunky chips) and some cocktails. It's a nice place for a date for example or if you're more thirsty than hungry, although it won't be cheap. Food was okay but not amazing, it's not the type of place I would go regularly if I have other options nearby."

"I payed £4.35 for a piece of Fererro cake to take away. When I arrived home and started to eat the cake I noticed it was quite old and the taste was not great for that price, but I decided to eat it as I was craving something sweet. At the last 2 bites I discovered a thick, dark hair coming out of the piece on my fork (definitely not mine). "We had wanted to try Crepes Cones but it was closed. Insteat, we saw the eye-catching colors of Afters and decided to give it a try, thinking it would be similar to other dessert places we enjoy. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I ordered the Ferrero Rocher waffle and received a stale waffle with chocolate sauce and mixed nuts that seemed like they were leftovers from a bargain bag at the grocery store. The Ferrero Rocher was nowhere to be found. My husband's Very Berry ice cream was overly sweet with a red sauce that was too much for our teeth, although the fresh berries were a highlight. We left £17 poorer and very unsatisfied, with the staff simply telling us that's what we ordered. Save your money and stick to a Solero or Calippo instead."
