"in the friendly neighbourhood of balham we decided to go to dinner in Arlo’s steak. I had heard many great things about arlo’s and wanted to see for myself what it was about. a big thing to arlo is that it seems to understand that eating a decent steak in london can be ridiculously expensive so that they have what a more uplifted kitchen can be in a little less pretentious so that these purse strings can loose a bit! I love the decoration of this place – really fresh, withdrawn, relaxed and welcoming. we were served by the most beautiful waitress, who was very happy, friendly, helpful and thoroughly believed in arlo’s and what it stood – makes the difference! the wine and drink menu also serves as a reminder of the unresolved, covered ambiente. only a two-sided menu that offers everything from blowing to ipa and malbec to digesting – a large list of drinks that can be chosen without being overlaid. we decided to sipe on the Argentine Malbec and a passion fruit bellini – just what we needed after a long week at work! the menu is also not allowed to the identity of this restaurant. only one side, the 5 different starters, 4 different types of steak, a lot of sauces and side and 2 different salads for those with healthier diets than me! what I also love about this menu is that not only it easy and welcoming, but it is also quite funny. So let me explain! first they can choose their regular size steak, or they can choose up to the larger slices they can choose a lump steak up to 1kg! it is not up to them if they want to share this with their next and dearest or decide to go on a crazy man vs food frenzy and eat it yourself! even if they have chosen their steak, they can decide whether they want a simple steak or they would arrive on a “rinky” price – a disc of fire-infused sourd that either in smoked chili or the bavette and hangers were of course not the most tsarcastic steaks, they are a cheaper cut, but were packed with a lot of taste. brilliantly carved on the outside and perfectly cooked we went for medium sized on the inside, each bite was delicious! the protection made a steak dinner much more interesting, but I did not find it too much added to the overall taste. to accompany the steaks, we went for the hand-cut Hautny chips and the Makkaroni cheese. the chips were beautiful, really crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside and the Makkaroni cheese was amazing! the menu also has a large selection of starters where they can choose all three for £10 – what a lavish! we chose the spiced halloumi in a kind of chimichurri sauce that arrived in a sweet little dish with a few wood food picks for use instead of cutlery. after such a delightful but heavy meal we had no choice but to have a lemon sorbet! nicely refreshing and citrusy, this was a good opportunity to finish a Fab meal! I recommend this restaurant, although the next time can try their ribeye or, if I am brave, the tomahawk! if there is a thing I know, I will be greeted with some of the best service I have ever had!"

"Just enjoyed our take away from Sami’s and had to write to let any coeliacs know that, if you’re looking for delicious kosher food with plenty of gluten-free options, then this is definitely the place for you. Firstly, the lady taking our order over the phone was extremely clued in with what was suitable for coeliacs. This was possibly the first time ever I can remember being told, completely unprompted, that any of the fried foods would not be suitable due to cross-contamination with the oil, where shnitzel and other food products share the oil. What impressed me equally was that she offered for the chef to wipe down the grill for any meat or chicken I may order, as normally the pita uses the same grill, rendering it unsuitable for gluten-free customers. I was really very pleasantly surprised at her level of knowledge (possibly she’s a coeliac, too? . There are virtually no kosher restaurants in London where I’m guaranteed even one soup on the menu that is gluten-free. Here there were 3, as well as the option of choosing the chicken soup (but without the extras . Usually the restaurants say that the stock they use isn’t suitable so when I find a restaurant with a choice of soups I feel truly spoilt! Finally, I must make the important point that the lady taking my order was extremely polite and patient over the phone, and I didn’t feel under any pressure to make a quick decision over the phone. Despite not being English, she understood me perfectly, I didn’t have to spend ages spelling out my requirements (something which I often gave to do with other North West London kosher restaurants! and she was extremely efficient. Thank you so much, Sami’s. We have just finished eating and our meal was DELICIOUS!"

"It is so hard to find a place where you can get healthy but tasty food, so a new addition to the list is always nice. The staff is amazingly friendly and kind, I must say. Every time I was here, I really felt that my opinion matters, one of these times I even got a small questionnaire so I can share my thoughts with them. The menu is really well curated and diverse, so I tried several things already. Their breakfast toasts are amazing, the salads are fresh and rich in ingredients, the smoothies and shakes are really tasty. My absolute favourite is the Espressoats, which only lacks the 'Designed for Bori A ' tag from it I mean, it is healthy and delicious and it even has caffeine in it, what else could I hope for? I also love the idea that water is also flavoured with some berries or cucumber or such. I think it 's a great addition, absolutely matching the image of the place. I need to admit I had less lucky choices as well, the Protein Macaroni Cheese did not become my favourite for instance, I just had the feeling poor mac was seasoned with protein powder directly. But that that was only one item on a pretty impressive list of different foods I tried, so I won 't complain much about it. If anyone is seriously into monitoring their nutrition: in addition to mentioning main macro nutrients and the calorie intake on the menu, everything is available in MyFitnessPal as well, which may help for people interested in such things (at the moment I need to be, because the scale is accusing me of a horrible weight gain in the past year, so I need to be watching. Not only have I been here three times already, I also know that I will return, and I promise that I will update this review sooner or later. My overall rating is neither a perfect five nor an absolute four however I am tending towards the better score for now, and will decide in a few months whether I was right or wrong."
