"If you ask those in the know where to go for a great kebab, ocakbasi style in Dalston, you'll probably hear one of three places Cirrik, Mangal, or Mangal 2. Mangal 2 was the one I came to last, and while we had a really good meal there, it didn't quite live up to either of the other two. We shared a mixed grill to see where their strengths and weaknesses lie, and we also shared a couple of mezze an aubergine dish and a lahmacun. Neither of these were anything to write home about, but the mixed grill was pretty good especially the chicken wings, when I had assumed it was the lamb which they would excel at. There was also a side of grilled onions with a spicy pomegranate dressing, which I couldn't get enough of."
