"After a feast of meat at Xmas what better way to kick start the New Year than with a Baked Dover Sole at The Gate with green beans and dauphinoise potatoes with a small pot of Tartare Sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection , so succulent and fell of the bone easily enabling you to easily digest the white fish. The Bread Board contained warm bread that smelled and tasted as if a Bakery was operating next to the Kitchen as it was that fresh. A delicious light dish accompanied by a large glass of crisp Chardonnay a perfect match for a very enjoyable evening. If you want cheering up after the tales of woe emanating from 24/7 news of doom and gloom re pandemic , our politicians behaving like children and Mr Putin threatening World Peace in view of the possibility of Russia invading Ukraine then go to The Gate where you will receive quality cooking at very reasonable prices. Recommended."

However, I want to note that although I made a reservation through Open Table and received confirmation, they did not have our reservation when we arrived. The restaurant mentioned that this has happened several times despite reaching out to Open Table. Fortunately, they kindly accommodated us on a busy Friday night during peak season in Florida. Thank you, Miramare! Just a heads-up: if you make a reservation through Open Table, it's a good idea to call and confirm."

"Had an early dinner here with friends and a table at 5.30 on a Saturday so relatively quiet. This was great as it meant really good service sadly something hard to find post Covid/Brexit. I had the Devilled Whitebait (lovely) followed by Smoked Haddock bubble squeak with a poached egg which was gorgeous. Didn't leave a morsel. Absolutely recommend."

"Had the whole place to ourselves sunday afternoon (kay brian , the venue looked very similar to the last time i went there about 15 yrs ago lol, BUT, what a great time we had, the food was fautless, £20 for 2 courses, very good value, staff were great, very happy to help. Dj was very good and took time to learn most peoples name (how? . The belly dancer was very good made everyone very comfortable, pretty too !! "I arrived on February 16th, 2022. the staff was efficient, polite and went away from the beaten to ensure my comfort. I was in another gatwick hotel in jan. 2020, it was the creakiest hotel where I ever stayed, housekeeping gave out my new laptop on my first day, they have asked different questions and never completed. I will never go back from staying in marriott, as in my many stays I had never had these problems. I suggest to get her room with breakfast it is so worth, very clean and comfortable with all the amenities. great location,Wunderfully served by gatwick Bus service .they will not regret it."
