"We had the pleasure of enjoying great food at The Ninth last week. We shared 8 different dishes and all were deliciously and thoughtfully prepared. The Barbajuan, oxtail croquettes and sourdough bread and butter were enticing appetizers which we followed with Panzanella and fromage Fran’s. The panzanella combination was deliciously fresh. Our rabbit and Osso Buco tortellini should have topped u off but we were glad we overindulged with the amazing desserts of Pain Perdu and White peaches. I would go again for the wonderful texture of the Sourdough and Pain Perdu alone. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the food and most accommodating. I was sadly too excited about the food to remember his name."

"I can see why the previous reviews are so poor. I visited here with my family this afternoon after booking for Saturday Brunch. I never leave reviews but I am so appalled at the service. On arrival we were struggling to open the doors as...the second was bolted. The staff watched my partner struggle to bring a pram in. When we arrived the staff just stared at us then asked were we ok. We were late for our table and they let us know that. It was teaming raining this morning and I had a newborn and 2 young children with me. So you can appreciate its hard to get out. The lady serving at the till was very rude. She wasn’t pleasant and when we asked for a children’s menu she was abrupt. If children are not welcome they should state this on the website. On the menu it stated ‘stackable pancakes’ and when arrived they were 2 small scotch like pancakes. The food was cold as if it had just been heated up rather than freshly cooked. And to make matters worse there was a long grey hair in my food. When I went to speak to the desk the woman didn’t apologise she just said she would get me another one. There was no apology or offer of compensation. When we were leaving again they had bolted the door so we couldn’t get through and stood around instead of holding the door. Considering the price of such small portions of food you would think the service would be immaculate. The staff sounded like they should be well mannered but every single member seemed like they just didn’t want to be there. Maybe you need to look at how the team are treated or the team working behind the scenes as there is clearly something not right."

"Amazing food great service. I have recommended to family and friends. The ingredients wine are locally sourced the sommelier is very knowledgeable and a lovely guy with a great aura. We were served by level 2 students who were great I loved the live teaching experience. We had three courses each and tried to sample as much as possible from the menu, everything was outstanding and perfectly prepped cooked. I'm already planning our next visit. Absolutely nothing negative to say, on the contrary."

"I had my very first traditional English breakfast at this restaurant. It was decent, but nothing extraordinary."

"Lovely day, lovely lunch outside in the garden. It could have been a normal day apart from the hand sanitizer on the table and the staff wearing masks. Smaller menu, but that's not a complaint as I don't think I could have coped with too many choices. Wonderful Sunday lunch with friends."

"Great setting would definitely come back. Good food (recommend duck and lamb) and fabulous location. Staff were lovely look forward to returning! One addition which would be cool more info on the tables about the fascinating building, even just a little leaflet. we used Wikipedia but such a rich history is a real benefit to the restaurant! Thanks again."
