"I mistakenly, booked dinner for 3 consecutive nights here. On day 1, it was clear this was a mistake. The pub is dated and poorly maintained. We had a good sized table (There were 4 in our party), which accommodated 2 wheelchairs in addition to able bodied users. From there it went rapidly down hill. Our waitress had a terrible BO problem, possibly due to working long hours without a break. All of our first choice meals were either no longer available, off or out of stock. So, we all had to change to other options. Two had the platter, and 2 the Lobster and Prawn Cocktail. The lobster had very little flavor. The platter also had cold peppers with cheese (We believed it should have been warm). The same thing happened with the mains. So two ended up with steaks, and two had the Hunters chicken. Unremarkable, by this time, the Hunters chicken, which should have had bacon, was instead served with thick gammon slices. The two steaks were not anything like they should have been. Mine was meant to be medium and was burnt to a cinder. The other was mean to be well done and was in a similar state, but with large lumps of gristle and fat. By this time on two had the desert, one was eaton mess or something akin to that. The other was a cheesecake. There were no problem with either desert. With a number of drinks, this menu cost £115!!. Despite all these issues. The next day, luckily, we cancelled, because we were traveling and couldn't get back in time. That would have been my birthday dinner. Valentines can best be described as a total disappointment, except for Jade, our waitress. She did TRY her best, in an otherwise awful night."
