"real surprise, eating was nice service fast and friendly. we had no idea that the contrary was on the way to the harbour and france, but the reviews seemed good, so we thought it would try. "We have been coming here for years but our recent experience was terrible. Service was appalling, they were not busy in the restaurant but very busy with take aways. We arrived at 7pm and left at 8.35 having only had a starter platter in that time. We waited almost an hour for our main course to arrive and then gave up and left. They still presented the full bill to us despite our dissatisfaction and when we complained they took only £5 off it. Wine took ages to arrive as did starters, as did water. They also took 15 mins to tell us they were now out of house white wine. Didn’t offer an alternative for the same price. The management here is clearly an issue, they also need to decide in the kitchen where their priorities lie. Diners or take away! We will not be going back anytime soon as we left hungry and went to another restaurant nearby. I hope you take this review seriously and take actions to ensure no one else has to sit though a similar experience"

"I can't praise this restaurant enough. We've visited a few times before, but my husband made a reservation for my birthday last night. They went above and beyond for me, with balloons, fresh roses on the table, and a birthday cake. It was incredibly thoughtful. The food is absolutely amazing, with delicious flavors and fresh ingredients. The rose wine was of excellent quality and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. I highly recommend giving it a try. My whole family was very impressed. This restaurant is a hidden gem and definitely deserves all the success."

"I went today for lunch and I ordered green thai curry as main dish. This is the 4th and the worst visit so far. The curry was very watery and no tasty at all. The portion was tiny as it was part of the menu combo they offer which in my opinion is expensive for what you get. When I went to pay the waitress asked for feedback and I was honest, I said that I didn 't like it and it was the worst curry I ever had, unfortunately. Her answer was: I take your comment as a compliment. Look at those people (pointing the customers on the tables), the reason why they are here is for that green curry you said you didn 't like it. That curry is our speciality and we are famous for it but I take your comment as a compliment which will be passed onto the chef. Then she started speaking with her colleague in their own language and the man looked at me and start laughing. I was puzzled with the customer service and definitely not going back."

"It was a cold, wet and miserable midweek night when I went here, but I was given a really warm welcome when I arrived. The staff are lovely and the place has a nice chilled vibe. There is plenty to choose from on the menu, and this is the tastiest and most authentic food I've had outside of Thailand. They also serve beer and wine, plus there's a cheeky cocktail list that needs investigating too. I highly recommend this place, it is right on the harbour so I imagine it is absolutely buzzing here in the summer. It's a shame I live 350 miles away otherwise I'd be here every week, working my way through the rest of the menu..."

"After enjoying many wonderful meals at this restaurant in the past, our experience during our visit on June 23rd was incredibly disappointing. We waited 20 minutes to be greeted and given menus, and another 20 minutes to receive our drinks. Our starters took an hour and 40 minutes to arrive after we were seated, and our main courses came 2 1/2 hours after we arrived. The staff claimed our order had been lost, but then suddenly found it and brought out the food. The service was disorganized, possibly due to a music event happening at the same time (although the management should have ensured enough staff were on duty). One woman seemed to be in charge of welcoming guests and did very little work, while another staff member was seen running around frantically. Staff members were seen wandering around the garden with plates of food, then entering the restaurant to find out who had ordered them. It appeared that there was no efficient system in place. It's a shame, as this used to be our go-to place for a special meal."

"A mate and I called in here after visiting Swindon for football, it came on my mate’s recommendation and a good recommendation it was too. The food was plentiful in choice on the menu and we plumped for the set meal which was excellent. Starting with a platter of fish cakes, prawn sesame toast, chicken satay skewers , prawns in batter which all tasted lovely, we then had duck and pancakes which were delicious. The duck was very tasty and there was sufficient for us to have three each. We then had the three dishes , one of beef Marsala, one of prawns and the other a chicken dish with a sizeable portion of boiled rice . The dishes all had a very different accompanying sauce and had such different flavours, again all very nice. No complaints at all. The set meal is £38 per head but you get a lot for it including crackers and a spicy sauce prior to the platter , and the quality of the food was excellent as was the service. I am not local, but next time I am in the area I will definitely be seeking to re visit. Word of warning, if you are dining in, it may be prudent to book as they get very busy. It is understandable why."

"Had a fantastic family lunch today at the Crown Inn in Messingham. Sunday lunch offers 2 courses traditional roast lunch for £9.95 or 2 courses from the Thai menu, also for £9.95. We chose Prawn Tom Yam soup which was a fresh light spicy broth with plenty of veg noodles with king prawns. Followed by a Green Chicken curry with half portion rice half portion chips. An excellent portion of tasty curry with plenty of chicken breast. The presentation was excellent. Other family members chose roast chicken roast beef meals which were served with both roast mashed potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding plenty of vegetables with a jug of gravy. With good service a friendly waitress, we shall definitely return."

"My girlfriend and I went for the first time when we moved in the area around a year ago. We decided to try it since we both love Thai food. Ever since then we have been going over very regularly! we love the food which is authentic and not like many Thai places around London and Europe which are europeanised and often tasteless. Here food is proper tasty like you can try in Thailand. The place is absolutely very simple inside, but tidy and clean. The food is great. The curries are incredibly tasty and nice, and we tried them all I would say, even the meat quality they use is extreme tender and nice. We really like the Pad Thai, which is a Thai dish for which I am very picky having tried many around Thailand with local people. Going there regularly either to dine in or to take away (and with take away we fill two stomachs with 25ish pounds), we got to know the general manager well, his name is Apple, and he is great. Always very helpful, respectful and professional with clientele, and he is very friendly especially when you get to know him. I couldn’t understand the bad reviews I was reading on here thinking of the treatment and the food quality we always experienced there. I then got to know that before 2019 there was a different management team, so the reason became clear. We brought and suggested the place to many friends and they all loved it. It has a very easy, dress down and low profile atmosphere. Will will keep on going back, definitely."

"Charged my friend but on the menu says ? Had to literally borrow a menu from other table and point out the price for them ( Changed the vegetable of my vegan dish without informing until I asked I ordered Pad pak...bung fai daeng which is supposed to be a green veggie (water spinach), they didn’t inform me that they r running out of stock instead they served me with cabbage!!! I had to ask them to double check with my order, one of the waitresses responded that they r out of stock; before I paid I asked for discount as cabbage is much cheaper than water spinach the second waitress told me the dish I ordered is always served with cabbages !! And it’s written on the menu in Thai? Yet I read both the English and Chinese version and None of them says cabbage or 白菜！brilliant I can’t read thai， but did my research on Google fooled me with Thai, i was right Btw I’ve seen somebody else ordered similar dishes serving with this veggie just a week earlier! Plus Water spinach is one of the most popular veggie in Thailand!"

"eating is good, especially the pork and duck dishes, but if they claim to be open until 1 o'clock on Friday and Saturday, then we're sorry that we're not now at 0015 't the best, their delivery times are finished earlier (before 2300) on the day before celebrates. I personally feel that you eat too much meat and not contains enough veg (even if they are much meat and besides no veg like, this can be positiw for them, as the meat is often well cooked) and their sauce is always something too sweet, but both are subjectiv, but their roasted rice is very oily and is not the best, but they cannot win them all. their delivery staff gets the job in courtesy wise and they supply warm eating fast. Moreover, the phone staff are good and give a time forecast and total price with any order that is good, as some places have told me, the end price is up to the supplier, again personal preference, but I prefer a fixed delivery price, even if I live next to or at the rande of their delivery area, it keeps the dinge fair for all customers. I didn't expect meelin star to cook or amazing service I just feel that their style of food doesn't fit me personally, but it is not a bad take and they definitely worth money, especially if they try to have two (or more) people with a single dish and side (and maybe a starter) before they had said that they did not deliver an hour or so before closing."

"The last time I went to Koh Thai my table was booked for 630 and my food didn’t arrive until 915. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were short staffed , because usually the food and service is A* But now I’ve booked a table for my brothers 50th weeks ago and they have just cancelled us given us only six days notice for a table of 12 people and now we cannot find anywhere else that can accommodate us in such a short period of time When I called to discuss this, the lady on the phone was not very apologetic and clearly could’ve cared less. Very disappointed. Koh Thai has gone down in my estimation"
