"Impressed on first visit.. A friend and I, along with my 5 month old baby, just enjoyed a tasty lunch. Our first time at Cafe Tartine and I will definitely be back. The decor, staff and food all get top marks from me. I had a chicken breast burger (not the most French dish on menu but what I fancied) and it was delicious. My friend really enjoyed her veggie burger too. We had a coffee afterwards, best coffee I've had in ages, but will make the crepes a must have next time. We chose to sit in the light bright conservatory which provided ample space for my pushchair and a nice comfy sofa to prop child up on while we munched away. "I've been lucky to be able to photograph for 2 weddings at the Anglers Rest now and both times have been amazing. The guys are so accomadating and Agi is worth her weight in gold she's a superstar. Lovely venue, lovely staff and even better food highly recommended for any couple who wants that intimate and more personal alternative to the big hotels. "Overall excellent, live duo (Thursday) great but performance area position could be better for diners not to have to sit next to PA speaker! Service food decor all great. I’d like to see table cloths or something to smarten up the tables as they look a bit dull but this is just a little feedback, we had a fab dinner, will recommend and look forward to our next visit. "We have visited the pub previously when on holiday, and had a fantastic meal. This time however we were really quite disappointed. The pub was quite busy as it was 'bike night ', we got some drinks and were shown to our table. The waitress who took our order was really friendly and helpful and was quick to take our order, she was attentive throughout the meal. The menu was slightly confusing with 2 different prices for every meal with no explanation as to why. We ordered starters and mains. The starters arrived after 30 minutes with an apology for the delay to to it being busy, which I understand can be a problem. The starters were appetising and we enjoyed them. We then waited another half an hour for the mains again I have no issue with the time having worked in the hospitality restaurant previously, I understand delays happen. My issue was that when the food finally arrived, it was quite underwhelming. My husband had ordered steak medium rare it was overcooked. Our meals although generous in portion size was luke warm which took away some of the enjoyment, but as we had waited so long, we ate it anyway. It was a real shame as our first visit as we were coming out of covid in July 2020 was excellent overall disappointing."
