"Chenestons is a wonderful find! We couldn’t have had a more superb experience. Leo and Julia are really excellent – their customer service is outstanding. All the other staff were equally superb, warm and genuine, I didn’t catch their names. It really is a special place and I was so excited because some of my favourite music is Glenn Miller and Al Bowlly and this was gently playing in the background which enhances the 1930s and 40s feel of the place. I was in utter heaven! The food was wonderful. We had help choosing our wine and Leo understood exactly what we liked and what would match our food and he didn’t oversell or make us choose a really expensive bottle. We appreciated this very much. The cauliflower starter was exquisite as was my smoked salmon. My halibut was gorgeous and my fiancé’s chicken pie was perfect. We visited for lunch before the Proms that evening and it really was a day we will never forget. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to come back."

"Went for a business lunch. Probably wouldn 't choose again, it was confusing to find the entrance and no staff were present to help. Once I finally got out the lift at Madisons, there was no one at the desk to greet me, so I just wandered around to find the restaurant part. A woman wearing all black watched me approach the restaurant area but didn 't move or say anything so I assumed another customer. I got to the desk inside the restaurant saying I have a reservation, and her colleague called her over so she obviously worked there. She asked me if I had allergies, I said no but I am vegetarian. She stared at me and said well, that 's not an allergy is it? , very weird attitude. Would have been awkward if this had happened in front of my client but they were still lost trying to find the place. Views were good and our waiter was great, food was decent. Menus confusing as only option is for the two-course set menu for £45, individual dishes not priced. We only wanted one course, I asked price of the Rigatoni alla vodka £26) and he had to go check on the till. Why are there no a la carte menus? Potentially because the two courses for £45 is a bit of a scam. Nice view of St. Pauls, but service not great, food so-so, would only really go back for the location once you can find it)"

"that is a very funny thing to do when in london. prepared by the architecture and design, through the number and quality of the numerous boutiques, the food dishes that sell all of quality chocolate to dinner....and the mass. try to visit a weekday morning to have the best experience. they also try to avoid the perfumery section if they have asthma or do not want to overload competing and contradictory and overpowering. this experience let me cough about 15 minutes later and I have good lungs. the place needs a lot of strong positive ventilation, or about 20 less sales people spray scents in the air. "Friends choice to go here, not in the nicest area but the decor inside was quite nice. More a cafe than a restaurant but it’s open in the evenings, Teenagers hanging around connected with the lady owner I think), it was quiet inside apart from them. The food was nice enough, it came in good time. The special price deal is daytime only I believe. This is a foreign owned establishment, felt a bit out of place tbh. The lady owner was ok I guess, bit of a vibe I picked up on. The toilet was nice and clean. The thing I found rude was that before we had finished our drinks the door was left open to the restaurant letting in the cold night air, in other words she wanted us gone as she wanted to close I assume. A polite word would have been far better explaining it was near closing time. It really spoiled the evening. There was also political propaganda on the counter, not something I want to hear about in a cafe. Not somewhere I would go back, I didn’t feel that comfortable. Two stars for the food which was decent and the drinks."

"I tasted GBK burgers for the first time and I must say their burgers are the nicest and tastiest burgers I have had in a very long time, I was asked how I wanted it which was cooked to perfection. It does cost a lot for a burger but it really was worth the money. The presentation of the food and packaging is the best I've ever seen, cardboard boxes instead of plastic (hate plastic packaging for food). "All in all a good restaurant with solid quality food and very attentive service. We had sashimi rainbow rolls to start with, which we all very satisfactory, but not overly exciting at the same time. We continued with a hot main courses of yellowtail jaw, which had a lot of tender meat on it (surprisingly, it's a jaw after all! , but I know for myself. Is that I prefer yellowtail as sashimi rather than cooked, because the flavour somewhat gets lost with cooking. The lamb chops were rather disappointing unfortunately as they were over salted and a bit chewy too. Green tea ice cream was good, however I prefer it plain, while Izakaya serves it on a bed of crunch garnished with chocolate chips. All in all a good meal but somewhat unexciting. Would I return to Izakaya? Certainly if I happen to be in the area, but I would definitely stick to sashimi and rolls."
