"Our friend, who has a valid exemption, was denied entry unless she paid 50p for a mask and wore it. We showed the staff and the manager the government website that states they cannot force anyone to provide evidence of exemption (she even had a photo on her phone, but they insisted on seeing a sunflower lanyard). They claimed they didn’t care and that it was their policy. When I suggested we just buy the mask, the manager accused me of being aggressive and having an attitude. He then told our entire group to leave, despite the fact that we had a reservation and one of us was already seated inside. He claimed that after a few drinks we would start harassing his staff. We were outnumbered by the staff and were forced out, even though we had been nothing but polite. I will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else go there either, especially considering how they treat individuals with different health needs and how they unfairly accused young black girls of being too aggressive to enter."
