"It’s our (very) local pub and has undergone several reincarnations in recent years. The new managers/owners look to be putting a lot of work into it and we have had a good report. So thought we’d give it a try for lunch as the signs say food served from 12:30 The first thing to notice is that it looks and feels cosier inside than it ever has although the Christmas decorations may have helped. A log fire being lit would have been the icing on the cake for me personally. The sole lady member of staff was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately lunch was a tad disappointing. The Christmas Menu was referred to but was apparently roasts only and to be honest it wasn’t clear if it was available or not. It seemed that burger and chips was the only thing on offer. Not what we’d anticipated or expected but thought we’d give it a try, as let’s face it, you can’t beat a good burger and chips. Unfortunately we didn’t get one. Supposedly we should have had coleslaw (I say supposedly as we’d not actually seen a menu) but this was unavailable so we had cheese added to the burger instead. Not a problem though. Portion size was OK. The chips were great. The burger itself, sad to say, was average at best. Having seen no menu and therefore no food prices we don’t know what the burgers cost, only what the food and drinks together cost. Overall, given the quality of it I’d say the price slipped in somewhere between ‘slightly dear’ and ‘about right’ So, first impressions of the “new” Green Dragon? Definitely worth returning for a drink for the coziness and friendliness, but the food needs to be sorted out both in terms of what is actually available, visible menus, and more importantly, quality. It’s a shame as we so wanted our inaugural visit to the pub in it’s current guise to be a perfect one. As the food was the main reason for visiting I’m afraid it’s got to lose a couple of dots on the rating"

"I came to old weavers on Christmas Day with my family, we had a table of 9. The staff and manager here made our experience so lovely and completely made our Christmas Day perfect! The service was fantastic, we wanted for nothing. The food with beautifully cooked and amazing value for money. We have decided to make it a Christmas tradition! Highly recommend, and thank you everyone at old weavers"

"We came here for breakfast and sat in the outside area. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly. We ordered a couple of lattes and a cranberry juice. The latte was great. And for food we had a garden breakfast and blueberry pancakes. Both were lovely and at a fair price."

"Very nice, quite simple. We both got a glass of rose and a burger. Nothing too special about the burger and probably wouldn't have been worth it with out the EOTHO discount. Three large glasses or rose worked out cheaper than a bottle even though they tried to get us to have a bottle, glad I did the quick maths. The waiter staff were lovely and offered us many ways to order safely and efficiently. If going for a burger, find somewhere else but, the pasta and afternoon tea looked nice."

"Wouldn 't recommend staying here overnight unless you absolutely can 't find anything else. It 's old, dated and needs attention. Very basic room and bathroom could 've been cleaner, heating not working. The mattress has springs that were so loud when you simply turned over. The food in the pub was okay and the barmaid was great, however the landlady is very rude and I 'm not sure if she actually wants anyone in her pub. Just one example We rang up to book a room, she says come after 12 because that 's when they 're open. We turned up at 12:30 to which we were met with check in is at 2pm . We were treated like an inconvenience but didn 't take it personally as she was rude to other punters too another couple came in to eat and after a short interaction, just left."

"I have experienced many upscale events, so I understand and appreciate the effort that goes into running a public business—just as my wife, Trish, does. This young team has created a fantastic venue, and they genuinely work hard to connect with their customers. They strike a great balance between catering to locals and travelers. The food exceeds my expectations for this type of place, and while the accommodations could use some improvement, the local charm and concept truly elevate the experience for me. They are doing a great job!"

"Popped in for a drink before heading off for our meal. The lady that served us was very pleasant and served with a smile. Options on tap were varied altho my friends had the ale I wanted a shandy and the lady gave me options of lager. Nice atmosphere. Hadn't been here in years since we used to visit to see Blow the Duo. TV screens were on but not obtrusive. Plenty if good seating including sone lovely looking booths. Really nice bar."

"What a lovely little tearoom. It’s on a side street, a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the pier, my sister in law took myself and my foster daughter for a treat, while we were all on holiday. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had afternoon tea, sandwiches were delicious, the bread was lovely and soft, with a generous amount of filling. The scones were nicely slightly warm, with plenty of jam and cream. They did a children’s one too. Which my foster daughter loved as she got a scone and biscuits. My foster daughter was very taken with the vintage cups, saucers and plates, My sister in law also had a 15 minute reiki taster session. What more could you ask for. We will definitely go again when we go back next year. And I would highly recommend a visit Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Afternoon Tea"

"I'd had difficulty booking and had inquired about gluten free but after 2 Facebook messages and an attempted phone call, I got confirmation of the booking and that gluten free dough would be there for a friend. On ordering the pizza, the server said he needed to check about the gluten free dough. I hadn't had chance to explain I'd requested it already. He then was at the bar area for a little while investigating. I ended up going to explain I'd had confirmation of the gluten free dough, only to be told he knew that was the case but it had been used unfortunately! He then checked if they could get some locally, which fortunately was the case. After a shaky start, things unfortunately didn't go smoothly. A drink was smashed on arriving at the table; 2 of the 3 pizzas waited a while before getting to us; I burnt my hand moving the pizza slate to a friend (there was no warning how hot it was, nor an apology); 1 pizza hadn't reached the table and remained under the light for a while so my friend ended up going to ask if it was her pizza and it was finally broughtover; cocktails arrived that were for another table and on asking for the bill, I was told we might have to go to the bar as the server didn't know how to do it. He did then get someone to bring the bill. All in all, it was disappointing. The training of staff needs improving."
