"We stayed in Colchester last year and eat at Chinatown, we were impressed by the superb food and the friendly service. We returned to Colchester for a concert and immediately decided that we had to try Chinatown again, we were not disappointed. We chose different items from the menu this time and still found the food to be high quality and very tasty. "I ordered a serving of thick soft noodles that arrived stuck together and inedible, drowned in a greasy sauce. I had never seen noodles like this before. When I called to complain, I was told that I should have requested them to be made dry. In all my years of ordering Chinese food from various takeaways and restaurants, I have never had to ask for noodles to be made dry. How can they be sure that someone doesn't have an allergy and they are just adding whatever ingredients they want? The noodles did not seem to be fresh egg noodles, as they had turned into mush and needed so much sauce, oil, and water to cook. The customer service was terrible, the woman was extremely rude and did not offer to replace the dish. At that point, I had no desire to eat anything else they sent. I will never eat from this restaurant again, as the whole meal ended up in the trash."

"We (2 people) ordered beef fried noodles and king prawn fried rice for lunch. It was really big portion and good value. The fly rice was cooked professionally at Chinese way. Kind prawn was fresh. We tried also the Hong Kong style milk tea which is rare in western world. It was really a surprise. We will be back for sure.
