"Me and my girlfriend came into this establishment for a meal on our last night on our weekend away at an air B&B a short drive away near Milton of rothiemay. We drove past and seen it was quite busy and the anticipation for a table was quite tremendous. We parked our car, walked up and seen that the restaurant was packed and there was several patrons waiting for take away food. Expectations were high. We were seated at a table in the middle of the dining hall and were helpfully moved to a more suitable booth with no bother by the attentive and friendly staff. To start off we were offered poppadoms and a selections of dips/condiments which were lovely. For starter, we ordered chicken chaat (which I imagined to be the standard red chicken on the bone) and vegetable pakora. When these arrived, bog standard frozen veg pakora, nothing special. Chicken chaat was a a mild bit of dog meat in a soggy bit of naan bread, disgusting. The curries, in anticipation were on there way and we were expecting good things, (chicken tikka masala and tandoori butter chicken). Both arrived with obscene colours (bright pink and red with layers of oil marinating on top). Both did not look appetising. Both were miles away from what we expected and had 3 bites between us. Not wanting to be those people to complain but I felt I had to say something and I had to explain to the waitress (who needs a pay rise) that the food was awful and we wanted a reduction from the bill. Our mains were taken off which was the minimum result after an abysmal meal. A major shift in operations in the kitchen is needed, will not be back. P.S the front of house staff were fantastic and the lady (who has 4 jobs and a child) needs a bonus. The kitten however needs a serious hard look at themselves."
