"Being a student at Aberdeen University, it's hard to be on campus without popping in to Kilau for a coffee. They're the best coffee shop in Aberdeen! The sandwich shop downstairs is open Mon Fri and offers a huge selection of baguettes, wraps and salads all made fresh, absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for students. The vegan pesto on sourdough is a go to for me so, so tasty. Homemade soup and fresh cheese scones are also made each morning too YUM. They also have a selection of cakes, pastries and bakes don't even get me started on the white choc and raspberry brownie (GF)... it's quite possibly the best brownie I've ever eaten. Cheesecake galore with different flavours most days and options for vegans, DF, GF, etc. Perhaps my favourite thing though is the coffee. I love my coffee, and their coffees are delicious. The baristas always take time over each coffee never in a rush over someone's drink and making it to perfection. Very accommodating with allergies and intolerances I can't have dairy and they always have plenty plant based options available. The staff are always friendly and the cafe is a very cosy, happy place to be in. A great spot for takeaway or sit in lunch if you're in Aberdeen. It's family run and kids are always welcome. It's a huge hit with students, lecturers and members of staff on campus. You can tell by the queues outside the shop in the morning everyone lining up to get their Kilau coffee, the best way to start the day."
