Unfortunately, Open Table had mistakenly booked us a table at the restaurant on 111 St James street in Brighton, which is currently closed for refurbishment. "The food at the Caversham is a little disappointing for its price band. It's nicely presented but the only thing we could recommend is the steak, which is excellent. The mushroombrie tart starter was cold was it supposed to be? and the soup was bland, as was the vegetarian main, which I wasn't altogether sure of the griddled parts had a meatyfishy taste which I didn't like. Everything was ok, but nothing was outstanding although the steak was worth paying extra for"
