"Have been to the other two branches in London many times, and the food of a similar standard here very good. I struggle to believe the negative reviews I've never had a bad meal at any branch of Woodlands, and can't really understand how anyone could come here and not enjoy it, unless they either fundamentally didn't like Indian food, or had a very blinkered sense of what it should be and weren't prepared to be open minded enough to have a meal without meat. I think the Woodlands restaurants display some of the most intelligent use of spices of any Indian restaurant I've been to, and as a vegetarian the variety on offer is a delight. The South Indian dosas are also an interesting addition to more familiar Indian dishes found elsewhere in the UK. It was a bit dead on the Sunday lunchtime when we visited but that suited us just fine."

"You have to check out this pub! The chef really knows their craft. The menu features classic pub dishes with a unique twist, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious! I'm writing this review right at the table because I wanted to make sure I didn't forget to share our experience; this place fully deserves every bit of the 5-star rating we've given it. It's clearly a favorite among locals, as well as us visitors. So many pubs these days prioritize style over quality, but this cozy “traditional” pub has remained true to its roots, focusing on providing excellent service, reasonable food and drinks, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I finished my meal and wrote this review immediately, not wanting to miss the chance to give credit where it’s absolutely deserved. Kid-friendliness: It's great for kids and dogs, with both indoor and outdoor seating available."

"We had a late Sunday dinner here and were very impressed by the bar; the outdoor terrace has a table football machine and comfortable sofas ideal for drinks, as well as the tables for diners, and the interior is elegantly decorated with the toilet entrances hidden in the mirrored wall at the far end. Although it is so close to Liverpool Street, it was quiet and relaxing and wonderfully cool on a very hot day. The burgers we ordered were enormous and very good and I can recommend the cocktails. On a Sunday they also make a great offer where for £10 you can drink as much prosecco as you want. At the beginning calm, but it filled later; on weekdays it must be alive. The service is perfect. I'd definitely go back."

"went here recently after a few years. on Sunday evening .was quite busy but pleasant. the service was very warm and good. rated Indian cuisine everywhere and need to say the quality and taste is pretty good...ja a bit more expensive than others. but that tends to follow rest and branding I guess....all need to recommend...a pionier who continues to churn out of good means of life"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time and I will definitely be returning. The place was very clean and well-lit, and the staff were attentive. The food exceeded my expectations and the quality of the buffet was outstanding. I highly recommend this place without a doubt. The service, food, and atmosphere all received top marks from me. "We like Vermillion a lot. We have been going there for years and the quality has been consistently high. The environment is nice and the waiters always very kind. We have found that the temperature of the room tends to be a little on the cold side, mostly in contrast with the softness of the carpet and the colors chosen for the walls, but this is just a matter of personal taste. Food is consistently very good. Prices are noticeably higher than other Indian takeaways in the surroundings but the cost seems more than justified by the tastiness of the food and the experience of dining-in. I usually enjoy large portions. I like that in the case of Vermillion they are manageable: they are large enough to satisfy me but not too large that I would be able to eat only 1 thing. Most recipes are in fact very rich with cream and sauces. Tonight we tried to share a starter of prawns (really good) and 1 main of lamb to be able to taste 4 different vegetarian sides. We loved the variety, flavour texture of each course."

"After viewing their website, it seemed obvious to give this restaurant a go. However if you 're looking for authentic sri lankan food, please stay away from this restaurant. Of course you will not get real Sri lankan food in the UK, but one would expect sth similar to it if you 're going to spend a considerable amount of money. I have been to Sri Lanka for 2 weeks this year, thus I know what to expect to a certain degree. The chicken kothu tastes like an ordinary biryani, the lampris is extremely dry (usually very moist) and the service was not reflecting the price on the menu. Overall, this restaurant has made a very poor effort to call itself a sri lanka restaurant. I 'm shocked/bamboozled it 's received so many positive reviews."

"Struggled to find a BYOB during the festival that could accommodate our group of 10-but were lucky enough to get a table at Kebabish last night. Very busy restaurant which had a lot of other large groups in too. The menu is pretty hefty with a lot of grill and curry dishes to choose from. I had the Prawn puri and then chicken tawa. The puri was very nice, tasty sweet sauce. The tawa was good, my chicken was tender but there were far too many peppers to the amount of chicken which made me feel a bit cheated. Portion sizes are huge-the mixed grill left some of the group unable to finish. Butter chicken had a uce sauce but quite dry chicken. Service could have been quicker, 2 hours between starter and main isn't great. Would eat from there again, but probably not to sit in."

"We want to express our gratitude to Christine, Lisa, and the team at The Cranleigh for making our wedding reception in June absolutely amazing. They were incredibly accommodating and helpful in organizing the event. It never felt like they were focused on charging us the highest price, but rather on making sure that everything was tailored to our preferences. Christine went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly on the day and was always available to address any requests or questions. The dinner was delicious and our guests thoroughly enjoyed it, as well as the buffet and midnight snacks (bacon sandwiches and chips). The staff were attentive, polite, and made sure that everyone felt welcome and well-fed. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and highly recommend The Cranleigh for any event. "Wonderful meal at The Tigers Pad. This is a favourite local restaurant of mine and my family and I suggested it as a venue for a Christmas get-together to a group of friends some of whom hadn't eaten here before. Excellent authentic Indian food, wonderful service and a real buzz about the place. This is a family run restaurant and they look after their guests beautifully. My friends all loved it and vowed to return. Thank you for a great evening."

"I have visited this restaurant around 20 times and I enjoy the food. They frequently include extra onion bhajis with the meal. One positive aspect is that they provide options for lower oil content, just specify your preferences when ordering. Some reviews have mentioned slow delivery and mix-ups with orders. While I did experience a mix-up on New Year's Eve, I understand it was a busy time. I would recommend allowing an additional 5-10 minutes beyond the estimated 30-minute wait time, as it is not always as fast as advertised. Personally, I have never opted for delivery service."

"Group of 4 friends visited for a pre birthday treat. The food was overall nice enough though pricey! We did return one dish due to it being too salty and the waiter rectified this and charged us still. The portion sizes are small and the rice was absolutely miniature hardly enough for one person and priced at £3. I do wish I’d taken a picture to show you all. The drinks prices are also high. The ambience was nice. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or attentive and could be seen rushing around like headless chickens mostly. Do not a service charge is added to the bill. The parking was free if visiting the restaurant. Overall nice but there are better places to eat so won’t be returning."

"in the frame of a virgin experience we had a night in the crowne plaza marlow, which included a three-course dinner and breakfast. the meal was absolutely delicious with four choices per cursor. the presentation and taste were of a very high standard and a very pleasant surprise for a hotel restaurant. beautiful supplements made it extra special like camramelized nuts and a macron with the tarte tatin for dessert- see photo. I dropped a star because unfortunately the service did not meet the high standard of the meal. we waited a long time to give our order, our starter came before our drinks, the waiter had to be reminded of our water and there was a long waiting period before they took our dessert order. we were also not given any bill at the end of the meal, as it was part of our Virgin package, but at the review from the hotel the next day the congratulation without our approval was added - this is a real annoyance from me and I asked that it be removed. it's a shame that we could not just tap the chefs. the next day the breakfast was excellent. it was self-serving and there was a huge selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, chalk, toast, cold meat, cheese, baked and a complete English breakfast with high-quality products to choose from."

"The food at this restaurant is overpriced. I have dined at many Greene King pubs before, but this was one of the worst meals I have ever had. I was very disappointed. Although table service was supposed to be provided, my partner and I waited for 20 minutes before deciding to go to the bar to order our drinks. It was clear that there was not enough staff and that other larger parties were being prioritized. The service was not great and the restaurant was understaffed. I paid £16+ for a beef burger, expecting a high-quality meal, but unfortunately, the burger was greasy and fatty, the chips were undercooked, and the cold sauce served with the burger was unappetizing. I do not recommend this place and I will not be returning to this pub."

"We have been ordering from The Standard for a long time and already know how great the food is but I wanted to post a review to say thank you for our lunch which was delivered on Sunday. It was for a large group to celebrate a birthday so it was important to get everything right and we were not let down. The food arrived on time, in separate bags with the persons name on it, the food was hot and fresh tasting and everything was outstanding, with complimentary poppadoms and pickles. The age range at the birthday was between 20 and 88 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. I just want to say thank you to The Standard for making our birthday celebrations perfect and the weather was great too!"

"Overall comments: This place was part of our Anonymous dinner rota. We were quite happy during eating and on the day, but the next few days were rough as 3/4 of us were ill. I wouldn’t go again even though the food tasted nice. Go at your own risk as it is good value for money if you can stomach food made in an unclean environment. My order was as follows: Starter(s): Veg Samosa, Hara Kebab, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chicken Tikka, Side(s): Plain Naan. Food: All the dishes were good and I thought we found a gem. However, 3 of the 4 of us were ill for a few days after. Atmosphere: Music was at a varying loudness. The Seating was not comfy at all. The interior was decent but nothing special. Service: Service was poor. We had to ask for water multiple times and the waiter assigned to our table just didn’t want to listen to us when we asked for things or tried to get his attention. The other waiter was very good when we asked him for assistance. The food arrived at a good speed to the table. Cost: Mid-range and only worth it if your stomach can handle food made in a bad environment."
