"Visited on New Year’s Eve as a last minute change of plan, although it was a little busy we did wait a long time for them to take our order. Waited over half an hour to even be acknowledged and had to ask for them to take a drinks order and get a menu. Not the best service! No ice in the drinks, my beer seemed a little flat. As I said they were a little busy so just left it at that, starters arrived which were to their usual decent standard. When the mains came 1 of the party ordered a sizzler which I’m afraid to say was not sizzling, all the rest was ok. This is not my first visit to this restaurant and it’s just little things that keep just letting it down from being a good place in my opinion. The service and issues will not stop me from going again I will give them another go as the owners are really pleasant."

"Carluccio's in Reading is relaxed with a very nice atmosphere. The restaurant/shop combo is a good idea. The food for reasonably priced, in fact not much more than Strada. Quality was not excellent my calamari starter was a little dry and the seafood risotto a tad watery. They were under staffed the evening we went. It took a couple of minutes standing like a lemon before the front of house lady had a chance to seat us, and the food took a long time to arrive. However staff were friendly."

"we were looking for good Indian food near our hotel on glouster photos of india not disappointed. eating was so tasteful without being sharp! we ordered lamm samosas, huhn tikka masala, lamb corma, biryani and naan. for both of us it was perfect! the restaurant was overcrowded, which is always a good sign when there are other possibilities. I would definitely return, it was authentic and so good! happy that we could get a table."

"This was my first visit to the Standard. The decor could use some remedial attention and the ambience would improve. The food was OK nothing special and in some cases surprisingly hot. The portions are huge however If anything, the starters too big leaving not enough room for the main course. I don't have anything else to compare it with in the area but I would rate it as average overall. Worth a visit for some of the more unusual dishes on the menu."

"The chairs were old and dirty, and the toilets, while modern, were not well-maintained. The restaurant could benefit from an upgrade. The starters were tasty, but the main courses were overly salty. The chef apologized and prepared a new main course that was much improved. We received a discount on the bill as a gesture of goodwill. The service was friendly."

"After using cinnamon spice for many years, last nights service was appalling. 4 hour wait for a curry ordered at 6pm via their website paid for in advance. Many calls during the evening and reassurance given even at 7.30pm informed it was being cooked clearly incorrect misleading information. After an evening of multiple calls to the restaurant having the phone just ringing out, calls cancelled and text messages unanswered I did speak to the restaurant at 10pm they still were giving excuses the curry was being cooked totally unacceptable. A family evening spoilt without even the courtesy to call us and inform us of a 4 hour delay. I dread to think of people who ordered after 6pm when or if their food arrived or was it just ours that was forgotten. The restaurant should not accept orders they cannot deliver in a timely manner and if a delay is above the informed time of delivery the customer should be informed at least then giving us the option of sourcing the families evening meal elsewhere. We are still awaiting a refund which was not processed last night as promised, again very disappointing when the money is taken out if the bank immediately refunds should also be prompt. A family evening ruined by incompetent organisation of a takeaway service which surely was anticipated to be busy, even more disappointing as the food us usually very good but significantly let down by the operational management."

"After attending a rugby game at Murrayfield, we had dinner with friends at a restaurant near Haymarket station. Despite being very busy, we were promptly seated and enjoyed delicious food. The menu had a great selection, including plenty of options for vegetarians. We started with mixed appetizers and then had main courses with rice and naan bread. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The only downside was that the restaurant felt a bit cramped with limited space between tables, so those with mobility issues should contact them in advance for assistance. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this restaurant to others."

"Visited Le Raj about two weeks ago and was beyond my expectations. On arrival we sat in the lounge drinking beer and Prosecco while waiting on another guest. There was a perfect ambience and the staff were very welcoming and friendly too. The main restaurant was set out really beautifully and the lighting was great. Service continued to be exceptional as we had starters and then mains which were the perfect portion and tasted amazing. When we finished up, we got some cocktails which tasted better then actual cocktail bars. Best pina colada I’ve ever had! Will be returning for birthdays and celebrations again in future!"

"We had an excellent and very pleasant surprise at this restaurant. After attending a concert at Molineux Wolverhampton, we decided to give this place a try as it was just across the parking lot. The food, service, and atmosphere were all much better than we expected. We had anticipated a beautiful but traditional Indian restaurant with the usual dishes on the menu, but we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of delicious and unique options available. "Went with my wife, daughter and het husband on a Saturday night (20th Aug). No problems with either the food or service given to us. What we all had an issue with was that there was an added 10% service charge added to the bottom of the bill. Neither the menu nor staff mentioned a service charge. Others were not as savvy as we were and left cash tips which were readily taken by waiting staff (so they in theory tipped twice). Will we be going to Ali T again. No due to sneaky tactics to make money out of customers."
