"I reserved the 'Make a Night of it' package to celebrate my wife's birthday. Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Upon arriving, the restaurant staff greeted us and seated us at our table after taking our names. We were given the menu and asked if we wanted drinks. I mentioned that we were supposed to receive a glass of champagne upon arrival as part of our package. Apologies were given and we were informed that we had been given the wrong menu. The correct menu had limited options, but we decided on the lamb dish and a bottle of red wine, only to be told that the lamb was unavailable. We inquired about mixing the menus, but were told it wasn't possible. The Restaurant Manager then offered a £35 allowance for us to choose from the a la carte menu. We agreed and ordered fillet steaks. The waitress brought our wine and struggled to open it, breaking the cork and returning to the bar. Another waiter eventually opened a new bottle for us. Unfortunately, our main course was full of fat and gristle, causing us not to eat it. The Restaurant Manager was apologetic and stated that we wouldn't be charged for the food, but we explained that the meal was part of our package. Despite the positive reviews, our experience was a disappointment, turning what was supposed to be a special occasion into a nightmare."
