"A relatively new venture on Kilmarnock Road. Bab e Khyber is a monument guarding the entrance to the Khyber Pass. You can, therefore, expect Peshawari Pakistani and Afghani food of a high standard. And this place delivers.Nice clean informal airy space to sit in with wooden tables and chairs. It's not high end but it's not meant to be.The menu is not extensive but it doesn't need to be.We opted for a takeaway. It was ready in sooner than the promised twenty minutes. Service was friendly.Cash only at the moment.Lamb kobideh kabab: two substantial minced lamb kebabs spiced with cumin and coriander, grilled to perfection, and served in a freshly baked naan with onions, cucumber, tomatoes and a yoghurt sauce. Excellent.Biryani chicken: a reasonable portion for the price. A superior takeaway biryani the grains of long grain rice were firm and separate rather than the soggy mush it sometimes turns into when overcooked. Not a lot of actual chicken but flavourful.Lots of other interesting things to try on another date including karahi, haleem and Lahori channa (chickpeas).Deserves five stars for quality and value."
