"Stunning pub stunning location! I used to work nearby (from September 2013 to February 2017) and I would always look forward to lunchtime visits here in the summer. I’m told it was common for the production team filming nearby episodes of Midsummer Murders to drink here, and I can see why! I have lots of good memories with former work colleagues here. Highly recommended"

"For our dinner, we both decided to try the special dishes on the menu. I chose the tamarind duck with a side of sticky rice. I remembered having duck at a market during lunchtime before. The duck tasted delicious, especially when cooked with tamarind, which gave it a warm flavor. The dish was served with a twist of red and green peppers, all covered in a sauce with a unique name, "gai yang som tum khao niew." I would recommend asking for the dish by name if you want to try it. It is a typical regional Thai dish consisting of grilled chicken and papaya salad served with sticky rice."

"I popped in here on a Saturday night without a booking and they managed to squeeze me in! What a delightful meal that I was treated to! Dumplings to start and then chicken Pad Thai with mains, aided with a beautifully cold Singha beer! A taste sensation! A great host, with prompt service; nothing was an issue and they gladly made recommendations to enhance the meal with extra sauces etc. This is a little gem on the high street, definitely a “must try” for those that like Thai food."

"I wanted to have Thai food with my daughter. Both of us had spent a while in Thailand and really enjoyed the cuisine. My daughter wanted to try it, but she didn't really enjoy it. The food was good, but the overall experience was not. I asked a young girl if we could use the restroom, but the waitress rudely said no. I felt embarrassed for the girl, as Thais are usually more welcoming. Our meal was good, but my daughter lost her appetite after that incident. When we asked to take the rest of our meal home, we were charged an extra £1 for a take-out box, which surprised me as we were in Finchley, not the West End. There were no hand drying facilities in the restroom, and when I mentioned this to the waitress, she was rude. We paid the bill, did not leave a tip, and were charged an additional £2 for the take-out box. It was a disappointing evening and we will not be returning. Mai ow."

"Situated right in the heart of Portobello Market, this cozy restaurant transports you to Thailand with its authentic flavors. Our party of 8 was accommodated without a reservation, and we were all impressed with the delicious dishes we ordered. The standout dish was the Mango Sticky Rice - a must-try! We will definitely be returning for more."

"Stopped here last Friday on our way to Oxford at the height of storm Eunice. What a fabulous pub/eatery. Received a very warm welcome from the landlady which was much appreciated given the hazardous conditions we were travelling in. The few locals at the bar also extended a friendly welcome. Our Thai lunch was delicious and freshly cooked. Just wish we lived locally to enjoy this establishment again and again. Old style restrooms and spotlessly clean! If you’re travelling up/down the M40 and fancy a great place for lunch, just hop off at Junction 6 and you are less than 5 minutes from this lovely pub."

"Service was unfriendly, my food was cold and we were stuck in a hurricane of a draught right next to the front door and when we asked very nicely if something could be done it seems they did not want to remove the door stop which was keeping the door cracked open. Nothing but water and juice on offer, no Jasmine or Green Tea and the bill which we had not requested was slapped down on the table as soon as we had finished eating our main courses, no dessert, nothing warm to drink, absolutely freezing cold, I was very happy to get out of there...never going back."

"We visited Newcastle for the first time and discovered this excellent little resteraunt, the staff welcomed us with a bow and a smile and they were very attentive without being fussy. The food was excellent I went for the Thai Fishcakes for starters and my wife went for the grilled prawns bothe were absolutley delicous, for my main course I opted for the Masamen curry whilst my wife went for a Spicey Thai red curry again both dishes were impresively presented and tasted fabulous. I have been to Thailand many times and this is one of the first times that I have found food this authentic and mouthwatering outside of that beautiful country, When I next come back to Newcastle I will be making a bee line for this place"

"Top tip: avoid this restaurant at all costs. I recently had one of the worst dining experiences of my life here. I placed an order for 8:30 AM, but it didn't arrive until 7:50 PM, and by that time the food was so dried out that it seemed to have been sitting under a warmer for hours. It was inedible, so we ended up throwing it away. When I called the restaurant to complain, I was met with a dismissive response and told that nothing could be done. Even when pushed by Just Eat, they only offered a measly 20% discount on a future order. Needless to say, I won't be ordering from there again."

"On the last night of our vacation in London, my second daughter, who has been living here for six months, recommended Giotto for her sister's birthday celebration. We were intrigued by the live piano music, and it turned out to be a perfect choice for a special evening."
"In Preston Street, there is a Thai restaurant called Kanok Thai . Once we entered, we noticed a nauseating smell. A mix of foot stinks and humidity...but that wasn 't a problem. We asked the waitress for advice on some clarifications on the menu. She was flawless on the information given. Some were followed, others totally ignored. We ordered: 'Crispy noodle ' and 'Mushroom Sateh ' as starters, 'grill chicken ' and 'grill prawn ' as main course. The starters were good, but the main dish was so-so. A special mention for Anna who was very kind. Average food...unfortunately you can 't have everything in life Eh eh eh."

"It was our first time at Dok Mali and we were thoroughly impressed! The food is gorgeous, the only little problem we had were prawns not cooked enough to our liking, although when we looked again, it did state on the menu that they would be raw. Service was very good, and prices were reasonable too. We will definitely be visiting again."

"The Blue Moon has been my ‘go to’ local Thai restaurant for at least 10 years and the food has always been excellent and the service good. It is with much sadness that I need to report that I will no longer be giving it my custom. Tonight I booked for dinner with a friend, my first time INDOORS in a restaurant since last year. I specifically asked to be seated by an open window to ensure good ventilation. I am double jabbed but my friend and I both work with extremely vulnerable older people so take extra precautions to protect them. When I arrived and was seated at the back of the extremely stuffy and unventilated restaurant, the very harried waitress told me she had forgotten to write down my request for a table beside a window. But we were moved and a few small windows were opened. Not ideal but better than nothing. And then a very unpleasant, aggressive customer complained his child was cold, so the staff shut all the windows except a tiny one above our table. 5 mi utes later, the man complained again that his child was cold (but they were a long way away from the 3”gap of fresh air opened above our table and it is August! . I tried to negotiate politely and respectfully and the man raised his voice and was prepared to escalate, he told me clearly he was not prepared to listen at all or even let me speak one sentence, and his manner was so needlessly aggressive, I realised there was no point in continuing to engage with him. He was clearly a bully and incapable of civilised compromise. Rather than cause distress to the other diners by continuing the exchange, my colleague and I discussed the matter, decided the potential danger of Covid transmission was too much for us and the service too cowardly, and we left. I will not be returning during this pandemic and advise others to not risk eating in a hot, crowded, unventilated environment either, at this time."
