"I absolutely love this place, having eaten there many times over the years, Each dish is produced in house by the excellent cook, using many ingredients which they have grown themselves. Everything is the absolute freshest. There are a number of fixed price menus ranging from just under 20 euros pp including wine to about 25 euros, the most expensive menu consists of: an appetiser, selection of preserved vegetables (eg, onions in balsamic vinegar or courgettes in oil etc with a large platter of mixed salami, coppa, prosciutto (all produced on the farm served with an abundance of fresh bread. The first course (what you've just had is antipasto is either freshly made brodo (home made chicken broth with Home made anolini (filled pasta or a selection of again freshly made pasta dishes all to die for! These are all local dishes which you will not find outside Piacenza, and even then, certainly not to this standard. Next comes the meat course, usually a selection from three roast meats served with either the best fried potatoes you will ever eat, or freshly picked chicory /salad. My tip is order one of each between you and split it between you. Next comes the desert, a fresh selection of local cakes, served with coffee. You will probably be offered a local liqueur, again home made. Bargnolino is similar to sloe gin, but much stronger. The well known Limoncello. A bottle of excellent local wine and water is included between two. I cannot recommend this place any greater, the food is the freshest, best quality you could imagine, and if located in Central London you would pay four times the price for food this good. Please note that they are not allowed to sell items not locally produced, so there is no Coca Cola here or factory produced ice cream. It helps if you can speak Italian, although depending on who's serving, there may not be an English speaker, although one of the customers is bound to speak English if required. Booking, especially Saturday evening and Sunday lunch is essential. They only open Thursday, Friday, Saturday evening, and Sunday lunch. In low Season they may not open Thursday, so my advice is always to book. You will also be served by very friendly people who are passionate about serving you good food. My only regret about writing this review is that it'll make La Risogiva even more popular than it is please leave a table for me."
