"Had a very unnecessary problem whilst getting a trolley to enter the store,we shop at this store on a regular basis and previously never had a problem. We were as usual we were being given our trolley/trolleys,when we were told only one of us ,would be able to enter the store.Having explained that I was disabled and I needed assistance,he said he would speak with his manager,I actually thought he was the manager. We normally love shopping at this store,a great cafe, and lots of good fresh produce. So we are not going to let this bad experience change that. This review is for the store not the restaurant."

This is an excellent Booths. Very good restaurant with helpful friendly service and a place with a bit of history.

A very pleasant cafe serving light bites, snacks and good cakes. Next to the retail store, the cafe is popular and always quite busy.

Called in for a quick bite to eat last week, not a lot on offer except afternoon teas, toast and cakes, Booths need to provide a wider range of cooked meals as many of their other stores still do!

Everything seemed well presented although didn't like the idea of customers being able to walk completly around the bread stands. nothing was covered so germs from coughs, sneezes and touching seemed very easy.

This is a good quality Supermarket with coffee shop. Food and drink choices are excellent. Good range of Booths only products. Coffee is good but no special diet foods in this part of the shop. Well worth a visit.

I was disappointed that I visited the store and whilst there wanted to try afternoon tea. You can’t have afternoon tea for 1 person, have to be with someone else. Seems strange that it can’t be served for 1 when each person would get the same slices of cake and sandwiches regardless. Was told could order the afternoon tea for 2 if wanted but would be charged for 2 people. I wasn’t that hungry or made of money! Maybe it is the store’s way to make more money but not consider fairness to customers.

My husband and I paid a visit to Booths on 27/9/18 to have a bite to eat but unfortunately I could only order a coffee due to the fact that Booths do not provide for vegans except for soya milk which happens to sometimes curdle in coffee as it did in mine. I am not asking for a gourmet meal but I would really appreciate just a little something to nibble on from time to time. I really do think that being in 2018 you could be a bit more vegan friendly. Hence I left feeling hungry and thirsty due to my soya milk curdling in my coffee.

The thing with Booths is -its a little bit dearer that others -on a par with waitrose -but as i said you get what you pay for ! They stick other brands than the rest -more unusual foods and suppliers ! Champions of the local suppliers and foods -ive never been disapointed with my shop . My local is in Hesketh Bank-but call here on a Friday when I have more time . Much varied choice of things and always fresh ! Nice cafe too -make sure you get your booths card -free brew in the cafe -free paper of your choice on a Saturday! Don't see Tesco or add a giving you anything!!!

"This is a review based only on take away food and from over take aways, so not a one off. One of the biggest surprises to us was the variation in quality from one week to the next. An example of this is that...a Tandoori mixed grill one week was so good, my partner had it again the next week, second time it was almost covered in a slimy coating and not at all pleasant. This also happened with a lamb Rogan josh, top quality one week, a few weeks later it tasted more like a pudding (more of this later). The quality of the meat, be it chicken, lamb or prawn has been generally absolutely top quality, large tasty pieces of meat, larger pieces than most other takeaways and good quality too. The side dishes have been generally good to. Price wise Holdi is expensive, there is no question about this and when the food is good quality I do not mind paying for it, the inconsistency we have encountered doesn’t warrant these prices to be honest. However, the biggest issue we have with Holdi is sweet curries, so often we have all of us) said this tastes sweet try it yourselves. It’s sweet to a point that it becomes a bit weird and not what you want from a curry. In addition to this have a look at the menu, about times it must say a sweet dish! We have avoided these and still received a sweet dish, the last one a sweet chicken jalfrezi…? Finally, when its around for a takeaway, chuck in a few poppadoms most other restaurants and takeaways do, it is a nice gesture."
