"I visited this place last year and sat outside for lunch with a friend. The service was quick and friendly and the food was excellent with good presentation and well-priced. Last week I went again for lunch. This time I sat inside and ordered the Sopa de Mariscos with a salad, bread and olives. The soup arrived in a large tureen and was served onto my plate with great ceremony. It was full of fish and shellfish and featured two enormous mussels and giant prawns. The value was amazing and the banter going on around me gave the restaurant a very friendly atmosphere despite only a few people lunching. Next to me a man ordered tuna carpaccio and this was prepared at his table by the head waiter. It looked amazing and the customer, who turned out to be the new owner of the restaurant, offered me a taste, which I declined as I was on coffee by this time. I chatted to him about the place and he seems to have great plans for it whilst respecting its proud boast of antiguos sabores (old flavours) on its logo. The only downside is the location. It is on a corner behind a large Chinese discount store and in a semi-residential area with very low footfall. It is near to the main hospital and easy to park outside, but overall the position is such that it would be impossible to find it by chance. It s well worth a visit though and I intend to try it again on my next trip to see if a more substantial meal is at the same level as this light lunch. I 'm confident it will be!"

The menu is much reduced with many old favourites and all the bar snacks, gone. The chef too. Be aware, this is a different venue now.

Easy to find, well priced, not aimed at tourist trade, no-one spoke English so ordering was an adventure as we speak very little Spanish, but the steaksvwere to die for and the staff could not have been lovelier. Well worth a visit if you are a carnivore.

Whether Steak (the Entrecote of Andalucian Retinto Beef you must try! , Fish like ultra-fresh Tuna-steaks, Iberico Pork or the fantastic Tostas, the quality is sensational, Also, the House wine has an excellent price/value ratio. Paco and his whole staff are always very friendly, we really feel welcome there. Guests are mixed, mostly locals.

Ever since we found this Place, we have become regulars, whenever we feel the urge for a Steak. The quality of his Entrecote is unsurpassed. Also, the rest of the menue is more varied than usual, excellently cooked, and always added by some specials of the day. The Service is very friendly and attentative, in short some place you have to try whenever you are in the Area.

A group of friends visited the Bracamonte last night for a birthday celebration. All of us ordered a different type of steak and all were faultless. We had booked a table which is highly recommended as by late evening the restaurant was full. Service was very efficient, house wines very nice, superb food. The majority of guests eating were Spanish which speaks volumes. We will go back again and will certainly tell our friends about it.

As usual the food was excellent, to start with we had a house salad together with a dish of black pudding on top of apples with honey and pine nuts, (delicious) together with guacamole with prawns, then 3 of us had Chicken stuffed with leeks, mushrooms and Parmesan , served with fries and vegetables accompanied by a nice bottle of Red. The only negative this time was it lacked atmosphere as there was no one in the Restaurant side all evening, normally it is us usually buzzing, especially on a Saturday evening even the bar side was quiet. Service has been better , but we had a great evening as the company we were with were excellent.

We were taken here by some local friends who go there quite often. Having experienced this for ourselves I am not at all surprised by their enthusiasm for the place. It is located near the hospital and well away from the town centre. It cters mainly for the local community but seemed happy to welcome us British. Tapas for starters were imaginative, well presented and very tasty. For the mian course 3 of us chose fish which you have to ask for as they serve what has been locally caught that day. It was very well cooked. We wined and dined very well, were well looked after and made to feel very welcome. It is really worth seeking this restaurant out.

Run by Paco (formerly of Cortijo Paco in Competa) this is a fabulous wine bar off the main tourist drag but not far from the hospital and Mercadona in Torre del Mar. Paco is a real pro and serves great food, both tapa and full meals all made in- house and very different from the usual offerings. His house wine is superb and the service excellent. Ample parking outside and the only thing lacking is the seafront. What you gain is a real Spanish experience, local people enjoying their lunch hour in a convivial atmosphere. We have visited many times and taken friends there and have never been disappointed. I understand Paco has recently opened a beachfront Chiringuito as well, will have to try t...

We have known owner Paco since his early days as a waiter in a Competa restaurant, 22 years ago. We followed him as Manager to his first, leased, restaurant, El Pilon, in Competa, thence to his self-build Cortijo Paco, where he had to learn how to cook, as chefs were almost unavailable away from the coast. Cortijo Paco rapidly became, has remained, the number one selection for dining in Competa. He has taken that experience style to Bracamonte, a small, simply appointed but smart restaurant with a short, but interesting, menu. The bar attracts large numbers of staff from the nearby medical establishments, for coffees, tapas meals. Our shared salad was ample, varied totally fresh. My Rabo de...
