Shepherds pie was a little shy on meat as was like a Carvery meat cut and added. More mash rather than meat

Used restaurant while staying in hotel. Staff always friendly, and welcoming. Good choice of food and drinks, high quality and served with a smile

menu was simple and did not offer much variation from the bar menu neither offered much for vegan diets. chunky chips were anything but and were cooked over.

the service was a little too slow. they enjoyed the main meal that was sea bass, but the starter, fished and dessert, cream brûlée, were disappointing. the table was booked for 7 o'clock, we did not leave until 9.50pm!

the restaurant was very loud with loud music, so I found it difficult to hear my two companions. the waiter was efficient, but not known, so often disappeared in the middle of finding information. eating was ok; nothing to be happy or justify the price.

A bit disappointed if I’m honest afternoon tea wasn’t presented very well sandwiches were very nice scones were very small and hard cakes tasted ok but were just not appealing looking, service wasn’t great although the staff were pleasant enough I kept having to get up to go to them rather than them coming to check on me , this was for a birthday present , although the cost is low the pictures on your web site do not reflect the actual afternoon tea , overall disappointing

I am afraid this restaurant has been destroyed by Covid. No atmosphere, tables laid out in a bare room. Furniture and atmosphere was that of a prison canteen, a long wait for food, which was unimaginatively presented a slab of pate with a piece of toast, soft flabby chips etc) lighting far too bright, a long wait to be allowed to enter, a redundant bar construction stuck in the middle of the room, and worst of all brown collapsing tables usually found in a church hall in front of the bar effectively telling us to go away. We used to entertain a lot of clients here. No more!

Food tasted really good, very fresh and generous portions. Staff are very friendly and will endeavour to meet your needs if possible. However, the menu on the website is not the same at the restaurant, therefore a bit disappointed. Another disappointment is you may not get the same ingredients in a dish from one night to the other. We ordered a meal one night and enjoyed it so much that we ordered it the following night. Only to receive half of what was in the dish from the previous night. On enquire we were told they’ve run out of the ingredients, similar issue at breakfast, no orange juice due running out.
