"Our food was mediocre it was nice and hot and the vegetables were good but my main dish was disappointing. Served on a plate with a jug of extra gravy (which was unnecessary as the meal had plenty of gravy already). If I had wanted to use the extra it would have been impossible on a plate I would have needed a dish! The two waitresses were very nice and keen to help but we ordered our meal just after 7 pm and it didn't arrive until after 8. They did have a large coach party in the main restaurant and we were in a side room but we were very close to the next table ot 8 or 10 who were very loud. When our food was brought to the table it turned out to be the order for another table altogether! We were given a complimentary drink but even that was wrong as one of us ordered a white wine and soda and just a white wine arrived. I just think they didn't have enough staff on duty to cope with the large party in the restaurant plus other diners."

The restaurant was full and well staffed. The food was very nice. The only thing wrong was the beef had gristle through the middle and was very hard to cut.

Had a lovely lunch food was very good service a bit slow but this was due to only 2 members of staff on at the bar. The staff were good but need more staff.

There was a wide selection of food available at the carvery lunch. The beef was slightly tough and the roast potatoes were a bit undercooked, but in general, it was a nice meal.

We were seated in the main bar where a table had been reserved for us. The staff was very friendly and the food quality was excellent with a great selection to choose from. It was also good value for money. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. View menu

The food was ok not amazing! But they had a good range of food, it was a little unorganised we had to wait on the meat a few times. The potatoes were like aunt Bessie’s and the gravy like water. Soup was nice ham was nice beef was rare which is not to our liking.

Very disappointed with the food. The food wasn’t well presented, shepherds pie was covered in fatty gravy so much so I returned it and did not order another main. We were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary here as we had our wedding breakfast/reception here, so the bridge wood is a very special place to us both.

I think the public rooms are about to be refurbished, as they are very stark and bare and they certainly need it. The TV (above my head) had a signalling noise issue ????. Having said that, the restaurant staff bent over backwards to accommodate our requests and the food was fab. Expensive … gourmet burger, halloumi burger and bottle of Pinot £66! Stella tasted a bit odd, but the unfiltered Stella was amazing (once the pints contained a full pint). View menu

My wife and I thought that we would treat ourselves to a nice meal but on arrival found a few issues had arisen. Firstly: for some reason our booking was crossed over from a lunch meal to an afternoon Tea which was thankfully rectified by the staff. Secondly: I had a slight issue with my starter which again was rectified. Thirdly: because of the mix up with the booking we were sat in the restaurant with some corporate dinners with no ambiance at all, but to the credit of the the staff and most importantly to the chef we enjoyed our meal.

The afternoon tea was enjoyable, but we had to wait quite a long time for it (approximately 45 minutes to an hour after our booking time). By the time it arrived, we had run out of tea and had to ask for more, as well as more milk which did not come with the tea refill. We had to request the bill as well. The setting was lovely with comfortable sofas and armchairs. Overall, it was a pleasant afternoon and decent value for the price of £19.50, but the service left something to be desired. I may not hurry to return based on this experience.

"Found out that under new ownership since October 2023, so recommendations to me were based on friends experience with previous owners. The manager was friendly and very attentive, asking lots of questions, explaining their menu when asked, telling me that the interior will be changed in the near future. Anyway, for starters we chose Calamari, Garlic Mushrooms with Cheese, King Prawns, and Halluomi. We then all helped ourselves to bits and pieces of each. The starters were plentiful in portion size, with all choices being great, especially the garlic mushrooms with cheese. For mains we chose a mixed grill, chicken shish, lamb ribs, and chicken wings and chips for my daughter. The chicken and lamb shish were both tender and full of flavour, and the lamb ribs were great. They all came with slad and bulgur (I can only describe it as a cross between rice and cous-cous).The mixed grill was plentiful in size and looked appetising, but my father in law enjoyed that all to himself , so I can only assume it was good. My daughter enjoyed her chicken wings too We were given bread on the table, which was warm and full of flavour too. We were definitely made to feel welcome, and will definitely return. Good to know that they deliver too. We were at the restaurant early (5pm booking), so were the only people in the restaurant, however, there was a constant stream of delivery drivers collecting orders for delivery. It was my daughters birthday the following day, so tye manager gave her a small dessert on the house as well. Parking: A few parking spaces on the street just a couple of doors down from the restaurant , where you use the RingGo App or good old cash to pay for parking."
