"Booked for a birthday party. Arrived to setup and found tables with filthy table-cloths so had to change ourselves. Luckily we provided outside catering via fish and chip van so did not have to use the kitchen. We were told van had to go around the back, where guests had to walk in pitch black, with 2 falling over. No thought to light the area. Staff ill-informed. Drinks pre-requested not catered for. Luckily we managed to put on a great night which was only spoilt a little by the call for last orders at 10.30 and then staff abruptly asking how long we were going to be at 11.00 while guests were saying there goodbyes. Still the night was fantastic, but this was due to our friends, family, DJ and outside caterer and certainly not due to the venue or staff. We would not use again. Prefer a cleaner, professional and welcoming venue."

Not a nice or friendly place. Very dirty and in need of refurbishment. Advertised as a restaurant but unable to even provide a sandwich. Rude and dirty looking staff always smoking. Go elsewhere View menu

Went there for a friend's birthday party and was in awe of the decor of the building. The bar is beautiful as are all the other rooms. Makes for a perfect party or wedding venue or even for a meeting. Would highly recommend.

The first Bottemless Brunch and probably the BEST. Relaxed atmosphere and the most amazing drinks and cocktails. Let’s talk about the cocktails, they are AMAZING lots of them. All made fresh no pre-made jugs of fruit juice with very little alcohol. Can’t wait for the next one.

A simply superb venue! The other week, we held my sister's 70th birthday party at The Cheyne Walk Club and it was a roaring success! An elegant central venue plenty of parking a separate bar and garden food that was great quality and great value the service was excellent too; courteous and helpful, especially appreciated as we had several elderly guests. The Cheyne Walk Club is clearly going places. Just what Northampton needs. View menu

This was my first time experiencing Cheyne walk, I didn't really know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The feel of this place is fantastic the building has apparently been around for more than a hundred years and you can feel the history when you walk in. The gent behind the bar seemed very helpful and answered my questions of which I had a few). In short , not many places left with the history and feel of this hidden gem. It's nice to be able to have a drink in a quiet and safe environment.

We have always had THE BEST time being served by the incredible Albert, the greatest mixologist (though he prefers to called cocktail bar tender) he is amazing. Tell him what you fancy, if you like sweet or bitters, floral or Smokey he has it covered. I’ve followed Albert from a previous bar and he has always pulled it out the bag. I have even become a member of The Cheyne Walk Club as it is a gorgeous environment, an indoor fireplace private garden. But all aside, where Albert goes, I go. He’s the best. No joke. Total wizard that gets you drunk you have the best time.

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. AKASAKA Japanese

AKASAKA Japanese

23 Castilian Streetshire NN1 1JS, Northampton, United Kingdom

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
